We kind of got off-topic in the Westgate Football thread, so I thought I'd separate out the discussion.

What are your favorite places to watch NFL football on Sundays?

I was planning on Westgate, but now am thinking of trying somewhere new. I definitely want somewhere that will be showing ALL the games. Strip, downtown, or off-strip (but not too far flung). Great drink specials would be a wonderful bonus as I don't do enough sports betting to keep myself in drink tickets.

In years past I've done both Westgate and Strat and liked the atmosphere at both of those places.

I'll be there in two weeks and I'm wondering this, myself. Although I'm planning on doing Football Central in the showroom at Westgate for the early Sunday games, I'd like to try to just get a seat at the bar in the renovated Superbook, since it looks like it's not as dark and cavernous as the showroom. I've never been to Westgate before, though, so I'm just gonna have to feel it out.

Searching around for a place for the late afternoon and SNF games, I found that AmeriCAN bar at the Linq has an open bar special... I assume it's still good on NFL Sunday. I got the groupon for $25, but it's normally priced $50. Depending on how much you plan on drinking and how many games you're gonna watch, that $50 might be worth it for you, especially since you can come and go all day.

Nice find with AmeriCAN - I'll have to look into that.

I'm considering All-American Bar and Grill at Rio's deal - The Tailgate Package for $50 per person including:
    • A three-hour open bar for draft beer
    • Unlimited buckets of wings
    • Bottomless fries with assorted dips
    • Unlimited soft drinks
    • One Resque Water per person

Not sure what their TV setup is, but would probably work better for the afternoon games.

This looks worth looking into! I don't have a dog in the fight when I'm there (damn Thursday night games) so this will probably meet my casual watching requirements! Thanks for sharing!

I really liked the sports book at Cosmo last time I was there although it wasn't football season so I'm not sure about them showing all the games and you can order food at the bar

It looks nice - I'm just concerned it will be as insane for seating as Aria's was last year. I got there just after 10 and it was standing room only, and all the VP chairs at the sports bar were filled. I tried some of the other Aria bars but they didn't get the same sports channels as in the book/bar. :cuss:

This deal at 10:00am on a Sunday. Sign me up! Doesn't seem like you can beat this at all for football watching. I'm a casual watcher and I don't bet much on the NFL so $50 for unlimited draft beer and wings should set me up just fine.

At Westgate today. In the theater. First NFL Sunday in Sin City and digging the set up. $5 entry as earlier reported with free drink ticket. Betting station inside the theater doors. $3 Bud/BL drafts. Breakfast sandwiches & burritos until 11 am then lunch portion. Only downside so far is that bathrooms are outside the immediate vicinity.

Plenty of seats and doors open at 9. No need to get here super early. I got here at 8:30 unnecessarily. Sports book was all full at that point. Lots of people saving seats.

Thanks for the report - think that's where I'm going to end up next week - at least for the early games.

Thanks so much for the info. I'll be there next week for the early games. I'll be solo... when you say the sports book was full at 8:30, you mean TOTALLY asses-to-elbows full? No chance for even a single seat at the bar? Just curious...

Thanks for the report cam. The beauty of the showroom parties is that you don't need to be there 2 to 3 hours early to get a good seat to see all the games. I'm still bummed that The STRAT is no longer hosting an NFL party, but even with the $5 entry fee, Westgate is a good alternative. The $5 fee probably even helps keep the showroom from becoming over crowded.

Do you get drink tickets when betting in the showroom? If not, I'll make most of my bets on Friday and Saturday that way I don't need to worry about waiting in long lines or hanging around until the score of the last game gets posted in their system to cash a ticket.

I'll be there in two weeks and also solo. Now if I can just find a good place to watch my Packers on Sunday night and I'll be all set.

It's theater style seating. No booths/tables. If I recall correctly, the theater is back past the sports book. It's well marked and easy to find.

As you walk into the Westgate from the front entrance, the theater is in the back to the right and the sportsbook is in the back to the left

There may have been some single seats available but it was hard to really discern who was saving what and I had heard so much about the theater viewing that I wanted to check that out. The bar at the sports book had a few seats available from 8:30-9am when I was hanging in that area. It was not overly packed, but just a ton of seat savers all around.

The show room had two people taking bets just outside the doors, only time I really faced a line there was about the 15 minutes leading up to the morning games. This satellite window closed at the end of hafltime of the afternoon games so cashing afternoon winners was done at the actual book. I placed about $300 worth of bets before the morning kickoffs and didn't receive any drink tickets. Ended up going to bet the afternoon games just as the morning games were starting to wrap up and put $80 down and got two drink tickets. That doesn't make me think there is a real system, but they definitely have them to give out.

They did have a couple of booths in the lower level of the theater. One of them that I passed had a reserved sign on it and it was the only one I saw in use throughout the day.

Ok thanks. I did like the setup at the strat with tables or booths. Especially if you spend the whole day there. . But I will check out the Westgate in nov.
