Hi folks. Will be in the holy land a week today! Flying over from Scotland for our 2nd Vegas trip. Our first one was in October 2014.

    Just two queries :-

Towers - what name are they going by now?!? We have booked into the Forum like we did last time. We tried the $20 trick and got upgraded to an Octavius room with a jacuzzi bath in 2014.
I just want to know what to ask for this time as the names/collections etc have changed so much? Not too bothered by a view. Would rather have bigger room with jacuzzi

The dreaded Resort Fees - last time we were there we never got charged them. She did ask if we had cell phones/devices and we just said no as we weren't planning on using them and we didn't get charged. Resort Fees were definitely in force at that point. Any thoughts on that one?

    Thanks in advance

You want the Augustus Tower, you will have to pay resort fees unless you are a diamond card holder, which I assume you are not, no idea why you were not charged them last time.

Towers are all the same as they were in 2014, except the Roman Tower has been renovated and renamed the Julius Tower.

With the Roman tower gone, Forum would now be considered the low end, then Palace would be the next step up. Octavius is the newest tower construction-wise, although Augustus and Julius are newer in terms of renovations.

Agree. Probably the nicest hotel room I've ever stayed in!

I'm a lowly Platinum and I did not get charged Resort Fee last time on a comp room.

Thanks Gros. Yeah just got a bit confused with the name changes. We loved the Octavius room the last time so will aim for that or the Augustus.

Yeah don't know why we didn't get charged resort fees last time. Booked it through British Airways last time so don't know if they include that in the price I paid. Booked BA again so hopefully the same

Unless this trip was prior to 2015, you should have been charged resort fees as a platinum, regardless of whether the room was comped.

Just pointing out that it was an oversight on CET's part so other golds/plats aren't surprised when they have to pay the resort fee on a comped room.

Of course, it's still possible for golds/plats to get resort fees comped on the back end if their play warrants it.

I just got back and I'm a lowly Platinum and rooms were comped but paid the resort fee. I also agree the Augustus Tower and room is the nicest I've had and I'm having a hard time telling myself why go someplace else in CET.

We will hope for Augustus and if we get Octavius we would still be happy with that.
