    My Trip Report

So the flight on Jet Blue out of Long Beach was simple and fast as always. We left our house at 7:45am and was checking in at 11:45am and our room was ready. You just can't beat that. The girl at check in couldn't have been more nice as was every single person except one that worked at CP, I'll talk about the one later and it was minor.
Plenty of room for coach and chair unlike many other rooms just to say they have on.[IMG]

I don't remember the cool little vents in the bottom of window frame that pops open for outside air. Nice feature. All the soaps and creams and hair stuff was first rate but, toilet paper was a bit on the light sandpaper side and I thought the towels were a bit unsoft. Maid was great. Also really really liked at the bathroom and almost all the lamps are dimmer. I really likes that.
Gambling a was up and down, mostly down so we just sat at a few bars more often to drink and talk and kill some time. The big round bar by the buffet had some really nice bar tenders that talked with you as much as you wanted. Talked about that they were the last bar to get the thinks on the video poker and all the strip will get it. He said if you just play at a normal pace you will be just fine. It's was about the people and he said there was plenty that put money in, play a few until their free drink, cashed out and left. He said it's almost the screw ups that screw it up for the non screw ups.

All the mornings and I'm talking between 7-9am I never but once had somebody come around so I could get a coffee at a machine. As for cocktail service at night, wasn't bad. Only a few times we looked for someone but only a few times. Once we order it was pretty fast and they were all nice and trying to be fast. A few more added would have gone a long way.
Have to say CP was always clean, from the casino to the bathrooms to the hallways, everyway and btw, out room with a great view of the fountains was quiet. You could hardly and I mean hardly hear the fountains. So all in all CP was great and fun and nice.
Food. Sore point is the dam food courts close at 11pm and I mean close. 11:15 I was hungry so I figure a burger. Forget about it. Only the bar and I think starbucks was open. Geez!
Homestead as always was great and friendly service and great steak.
Joe's stone crab in the forum shops was of course great friendly service and food.
Had Mexican at Yolos at Planet Hollywood at even if they don't take rewards points they were good. Service was fast and food was hot.
Had lemongrass at Aria and it was a tad slow service but the food was great. It's been a few years since last time we were there and I remember tons of food but not this time. We left a bit wanting more so I don't know if they changer the amount or it was just us.
Aria buffet was a bit of a breakfast bummer. Got seated at 10:30. Plenty of non breakfast food. Eggs was so watery nobody was getting them and by anybody I mean not just us. Bacon was dripping with grease. You had to look hard to find the omelette station. No sign, you just notice a line and you had to look to see what it was for. Omelette was great. Searched high and low bot butter. Found 2 that somebody had set next to syrup. That was all there was from the first time I looked until I left. They little fifty cent size waffles were not hot and the smaller then that freach toast was ok at best.
Paris mon ami gabi for breakfast sitting outside was good even if they don't take reward points. Service was friendly, fast and food was good.
Last breakfast was in CP lobby cafe. Very pricey but a hint. You get a ton so people could share very easy. Good service and friendly.
Now for the Vista bar. Walked by and I said hey, I wanted to have a drink in her. Me, wife, daughter and boyfriend. Walked up to bare and before was had a seat the bartender says it's fifty dollars to sit and turned and walked away. What a dick. of course we didn't sit bit I was so pissed i yelled hey, do you talk AMEX? He turned and smiled and said yes. I said grat because you won't take this one and of course my wife is pulling my arm out of my socked and my daughter and boyfriend are rolling. We left never to return. lol Saw Penn and Teller and if you are a reg watcher of their fool us show then you have seen 80% of the Rio show.
Saw John Fogerty at Venetian and it was a fantastic concert and would in a minute go again.

In the end fwiw, from the time we got in the taxi at CP to seating at out gate for our flight was one hour.
Had a great time and am already looking for next years trip.

Forgot, a few months ago total rewards sent me a letter to redeem at a TW booth for a VIP pass good for a year and boy did it come in handy. Right up front in some very long taxi lines. The free shuttle from Ballys to Rio was not even full but man oh man, way crowed waiting for it from Rio. People were so wanting to get on that as soon as the doors open they were trying to get close and people getting off couldn't get off. They did and then the driver said High Roller or high rollers club members first. My wife said show the VIP card and I did and he told us to go as I could hear a few yelling why do they get to go first and the driver yelling back because these people{not us as much as the bunch before us}spend a lot of money to get these perks. Ended up being so full that maybe a dozen had to wait for the next.

Great report, thanks for sharing! If you want to use reward points for a meal at MAG, all you have to do is charge the meal to your room at any CET property. You can then use reward points to pay for meal on your room bill. I believe you can go to the TR desk and ask for a comp slip for MAG using reward points. Glad you had a fun trip!

Sorry about the pics. I deleted them but the room is nice with plenty of room for the couch, smaller couch. They are not just crammed in there. Bed seems new and firm, not hard.

Forgot, we saw the 5pm Big Elvis show and he was in great voice. At one point his mic stopped in the middle of a song so someone took it to look at it and Big Elvis go up and did a little 15 second dance before he sat back down and the mic was ready. Place was packed, people young and old were up dancing and it was a great show. Best free show on the strip.
Question, why no tip jar? We looked.

Thanks for the report. Didn't know that about MAG not accepting TR points. I think this might be the first report that included a review of the toilet paper! Maybe it will start a trend!

Nice report! But not sure why you got so irked about the bartender saying the $50 minimum thing. Unless you think he made that rule up himself? I think its crap too, but if its a place is in high demand, I could see a minimum. All the tables at the clubs have one...

I didn't think he made it up and it wasn't a club, it was a bar. I was irked at the way he looked and said it like you can't afford to sit here so go away.

Go for the cocktails, but enjoy the LED “views” at upscale VISTA Cocktail Lounge. Located in the center of the casino, enjoy casual drinks in this relaxed nightclub alternative. VISTA exudes a classic lounge feel and sophisticated atmosphere, but with modern technology features intertwined through the space.

That's cool about Big Elvis. I think I read somewhere on VMB not too long ago that he had to take a break for a while for health reasons. Glad to hear he is back performing..........

He looked happy and in good spirits. Talked with everyone and told us that one of Elvis drummer was there watching the show.

Can confirm that you can visit th TR desk for a comp slip for MAG. Did this on my last trip. Just go to the desk before you go into MAG and ask. The guy at the desk said if you overshoot and end up getting a comp slip for more than your tab, the remainder can be put back on your TR account.

So I said that the food court closed down at 11pm. That leaves nothing for a fast bite like a burger or single pizza. la salsa cantina forum shops on fri, sat and sun till 12am and cheesecake factory fri and sat till 12am. Boy, hard to think that in CP and it's 11:30 at night and ya get get a fast burger or a quick bite.

Considering how isolated CP is, that's definitely a downer. Being a tightass, I probably would hike to the mini food court between Harrah's and Casino Royale.

You would think Earl would stay open 24/7 like it does at PH. Too bad.
