quick question about October

Went to book a trip for the week of October 16th and a lot of places are sold out or more expensive then normal, so checked the week after (23rd) and still quite expensive. I checked all the convention schedules and fight schedules and there isn't anything going on. Anyone have any ideas why? The week before the 16th and the week after the 23rd are cheap. Thanks mates.

 

Maybe because my wife and I will be there celebrating our 35th anniversary on Oct 17.

Seriously I don't know. We have gone to Vegas around 10/17 for the last 25 years or so and the prices for airfare are usually a bit higher, but since our room is always comped, we don't pay that much attention to room rates.

 

Because it's perfect weather that time of year in Vegas and they are busy.

Ok so nothing going on besides great weather and Joe's anniv. I was just worried we were going to get there and it would be fight week and super crowded or something crazy. I have comps at 4 different hotels(Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Aria and Excaliber) but I don't want to stay at any of them so we are going to pay to stay somewhere we want to try(Red Rock). Thanks guys.

 

I'm guessing the presidential debate on the 19th has something to do with the high prices.

October is a great time to visit Vegas and yes lots going on as others mention - the debate - rolling stones and of course my 50th birthday celebration all on the same day - I will be there!!!

 

Also crab season opens Oct. 15th.
