My best bartop VP experiences have been in places that your average visitor doesn't even know exists, i.e. the bartop VP machines down the hotel hallway at the Hard Rock, or the small little Horseshoe bar in the Mandalay Bay sports book. What's the best kept secret on hard-to-find bartop V/P machines?

The back bar at Orleans ... behind the Food Court and near the Poker Room. Great, efficient bartenders. Many people don't even know it exists.

Bellagio at the sportsbook, tucked away in the corner. Most people don't even venture down that way. Great drink service as well.

I agree with Bellagio and Mandalay Bay sports books. I have done well and gotten drunk at both!

Best: Lobby Bar @ NYNY. If you tip well, you will get service like you thought you couldn't get anywhere at MGM properties anymore.

Worst: A tie: #1: The Playbar (next to sportsbook) at Luxor, where you will get ignored even if you are literally the only person there. Plus when you can actually get served, you'll get incredibly pathetic pours on comped drinks. Tied with #1a: The Le Bar du Sport (attached to sportsbook) at Paris. Service is just *okay*, but all the televisions are so snowy...c'mon this is 2016, why are the TVs even snowy at all? Is there a big set of rabbit ears on top of the Eiffel Tower?

Funny you mention NYNY - my last trip I was redeeming a myvegas comp and went to go find my friends afterwards. They said they were sitting at a bar playing VP. I looked everywhere and couldn't find them. Turns out if you go down the escalators and follow that wall past the players club desk, that wall wraps around into a bar with like 6 machines. I couldn't find that place even when I was specifically looking for it!

Here's a decent video of it.

This guy starts off right after the players club/ cashier on that wall. He pans to the high limit room at 2:36 then keeps walking along the wall and looks in another room at 2:55. That room at 2:55 has a VP bar if you were to just walk in and turn left. At first glance it looks like its part of the high limit room, but I can assure you the VP is quarters!

High limit at Luxor starts at the $1 level. It's been full pay as well, including 9/6 Jacks. But they were working on the bartops recently, so it's possibly been downgraded. I hope to find out next week unless someone beats me to it.

I haven't sat down there since Sin City Brew Co. left, but I've had fun at the bartops in the walkway between the hotel lobby and giftshop at Flamingo. Paytables are typical cet crap now though I think.

Yes. NY NY used to be an exception to this because those units were so old they didn't have card readers, iirc.

Not exactly much of a nook, but Score sports bar at Monte Carlo wasn't busy when I was there a year or so ago.

Can't agree with this one enough. My go to spot at the Orleans for many years. Bartenders are fantastic and many have been there for years. Machines are definitely showing their age though.

Almost forgot my favorite. Four Queens at that bar area upstairs in that restaurant. Only like 5 machines and overlooks the gaming floor.

Last time I went to 4Q, I thought no way Chicago Brew Co. would have bartops up there. Wrong! D'Oh!
