Do the grocery stores sell beer and wine in them like they do in the Carolinas? We are flying there but will bring some containers to put beer or wine in when walking on the Strip. I've heard this is allowed as long as you are on the strip and not one block away from it.

yes, you can have open containers on the strip. Stores sell beer/wine/etc 24/7. They prefer you not to have glass on the strip, but they only in-force that on NYE.

Every 100 ft you will find a CVS or Walgreens. They sell booze, wine, beer as well. And, the gift shops in the casino/hotels as well.

There was just a thread on this last week. Basically on the Strip you can get away with cans and bottles are not allowed.

The container law is tricky. If you buy it from a store in a closed container you aren't supposed to be drinking it on the premises or with 1,000 ft of the store. Maybe they don't people hanging around outside of the Walgreens getting boiled and bothering people. Or on Fremeont St you can't buy from one of the stores and pour or drink it. They want you either in the Casinos or buying from that big outdoor bar.

If purchased in an open container like a cup you can drink it wherever you want. I always travel with a sleeve of red cups.

I imagine you would have to be creating a nuisance of yourself to get hassled. The first thing I did last year at 2:00 in the afternoon was go to Walgreens outside PH and buy a couple of bags of booze and stop on the bridge and crack one open. I also walked down the to LV sign with one on the go and one in my pocket. I always left the hotel with a red cup full and an extra tall boy.

u now must have cans or plastic cups on the strip. yes all stores now sell beer wine and hard alchol , also casinos have places that sell. ps cvs and walgrees on the strip are more expensive than u will be used too , just a heads up.

also when leaving a casin , club bar or anything u need to get a to go cup now to walk around the strip, its just a plastic cup.

there are some stores that will deliver too the strip if ur buying alot.also some place not to far by bus .
