Can't help on the tower rooms since it's been ages since I've stayed there.

If I were staying at the Luxor, I'd WANT to stay in the Pyramid. Of course, that may be a reflection on the fact that when they first opened, we couldn't AFFORD to stay in the pyramid.

The TOWER is too far a walk for me.

Stayed in tower in June and it was ok, nothing special but clean. Furniture a little dated. I would stay at Luxor tower before flamingo. Never stayed at Excalibur so can't compare.

You get tired of the slanted walls and inclinators after about 5 minutes. Stay in a tower room. MUCH better.

Tower rooms are MUCH better than the pyramid rooms (I have stayed in both within the last year)

Luxor tower rooms are much better than Excalibur royal tower rooms, but about equal to the Excalibur resort tower rooms (I have staying in both within the last year)

I haven't stayed in the pyramid rooms since they opened, but stayed in the tower last year and it was Ok. What I didn't like was walking out of the pyramid down hallways to get to the tower.........basically leaving the Luxor. As far as Excalibur, I will not stay there again as it too has a poor design of getting to your room, accommodations and check in is well below standards for a resort on the strip.

Here are pics of my Tower room at Luxor from June. I was in the West tower, it is a hike past the pool and convention area, but didn't go back to the room often and once on the casino floor, close to excalibur connection to walk north on strip.

Stayed at both a couple years ago. Tower room is definitely an upgrade over Pyramid but neither are really much to write home about. Unless you're in a suite there you're not going to be blown away by any room in Luxor.

To answer your Q though I would rather stay there than either Flamingo or (by far) the Ex, unless location is a factor.

Just stayed in the Tower and it was fine. Better than Pyramid which I've also stayed in.
