I stayed at the Wynn and have always enjoyed their dealers and top notch drink service but sadly 2X odds are there to stay unless you played with the private table on the floor with the $1,000 minimum this past weekend or $50+ min table in the high limit area. As poor as 2X odds is I still like to play and have won 6 out 7 sessions there including a win at their cabana pool side table which was a lot fun. Their dealers are top notch and very helpful.
It looks like Casino Royale no longer has 100X odds either according to their dealers but this game just isn't as fun now it's off strip. The bar now has Sculpin which is worth a stop.
Best game on the strip seems to be at the Cromwell with $5 tables during the day and 100X odds. I might have to give this hotel a visit in the future, casino was clean and not smoke filled.

I think for the Average Joe, 2X odds is just fine. Most people don't have the bankroll to play higher than that. Thanks for the report!

I hate 2X odds, welcome back to the 80's. Even downtown has 2X odds at some places. I can live with 3X, 4X, 5X but not double.

Hold up. Casino Royale has Sculpin? Casino Royale??? Home of the $1 Michelobs?? That seems terribly out of place. I'd be even more shocked if they comped it from playing the bartops.

Generally speaking, sculpin is beginning to spread. Being bought out by Corona's owners always helps...lol TAG, Harrahs, V/P, and Cosmo (certain bars) have it too. Vegas is slowly catching up with craft beer.

The Cal has 2x odds but I think their draw is to get into the golden arm club so people will play there just to try to get into the club. I usually will play at MSS with the 20x odds instead but if I had a bad streak I would play at the Cal.

As for 2x odds being fine, on cold tables it is safer but on hotter tables many people would rather play more than 2x odds, which is why I play at MSS more than other places.

Fremont also has 2x odds but they also have a sharpshooters club. Plus I like the counters to see how many rolls a shooter has.

Does the cromwell always spread a $5 game? Even on nights/weekends ect? I would assume they have a $5 game sometimes & then $10 at night as a min. Could anyone confirm???

Every table in las vegas should be at least 10x odds! Come on Vegas just give us a fighting chance! I mean, we will still lose... 2x is like spitting in our faces. At Wynn I play in high limit where it is 3,4,5x but nobody is ever there and I like playing with others so I go to 2x. It's sucks big time and the sad thing is the only ones who complain about it while playing are the dealers. And me! It adds up..

If the dealers are complaining does that mean Wynn's experiment isn't going as well as he thinks on the conference call this summer?

Or does 2X odds lead to fewer big winners whom dealers often get a bigger share of tips from?

I hate that counter. It seems every time I look at it there's a 7 showing on it.

Yes that's their take. You and I know however hardly anyone takes advantage of the full odds anyway. Wynn experiment is working for him and yes it just isn't that much of a difference for us. But is a mindset. I want the option to put 3,4,5 or 20x odds. I want to make that call. I don't want any of us to be forced to do anything in a casino. We are losing our hard earned money and if we are going to lose it at least give us some higher odds. (So we can lose faster Lol)..

I stayed at Flamingo last Tue-Fri, here is a quick craps report for that area:

    Cromwell- Tue-Thur, 1 table open, $5 during the day, $10 at night. Fri afternoon/night- 3 tables open, 2 @ $10, 1 @ $5. 100x odds.
    Flamingo- Tue-Thur, 1-2 tables open, $5 during the day, $10 late afternoons/eves. Fri, 3 tables open 1 @ $5, 2 @ $10 afternoon, all tables $10 at night.
    Margaritaville- Tue-Fri, 1 table, $5 during the day , $10 late afternoons/eves.
Linq- Tue-Thur, 1 table open $5 during the day, $10 at night. Fri, 2 or 3 tables open 1 @ $5 during day, all $10 at night.
    O'Shea's- Tue-Fri, 1 table, $5 during the day , $10 late afternoons/eves.
Harrah's, Tue-Thurs, multiple tables, $5 during the day, $10 at night. Fri afternoon/night- multiple tables open, most $10, one at $5 (table at pit next to Piano Bar)
Casino Royale- Tue-Fri, one table, was $3 min. @ all times I went in there, no longer offers 100x odds.

Ha ha, I like that counter. It gives me an idea how well the shooter is doing. I usually check out the tables so if I see a low number I know the shooter hasn't been throwing for very long. If I see higher numbers (over 10 or 15) then I know the shooter is having a decent run. Higher counts shows that the shooter is doing very well and I would try to get in on the action. Yeah, yeah, it is all superstition but I rather get on a table with someone shooting decently. It has worked out for me a number of times, once I got on where a shooter was on 20. He continued to roll until he reached 50 so I won some money on him.

I like the fremont because I can circle the tables and watch all the action before I decide to get on a table.

Totally agree. I'm not a High Roller by any means... but always play at least 3X odds.

I generally play 2x odds but when the table heats up it's nice to have the option to up my game.

What's up with Casino Royale going to 3x4x5x odds, do you think they were getting burned more than making out? OR did Cromwell's 100x odds affect their thinking?

I am usually in the same boat as fet. I like to start at 2x and work up if I win, but I think that is exactly why more casinos are going away from big odds options. It's the only bet in the casino with exactly 0 house advantage so that would make sense to also be the most limited bet. Additionally since most people only bet the bigger numbers when winning the casino doesn't really stand to make money from a seven. They either recoup some of what they paid you or they take a hit by paying out on a win. However with low odds it may push people to buy the point, place more numbers, or place come bets (that's my recourse at 2x odds) but all of those bets have a house advantage.

Did CR cut back all the way to 3/4/5x? I assumed they just lowered it back to 20X. But the way they sweat the money, they have no business offering 100X anyway.

According to their website it's 3/4/5x odds. Can anyone confirm the current odds? I agree about them sweating money, that was always my entertainment when at CR - watching the pit sweat large bets...
