    Hi all,

Last time I stayed at V/P in June, I was able to snag a 25% off deal from a coupon I received online for signing-up for their emails. I then found a limited 33% off coupon from some website I was on. Nowadays, however, I only see 10% off for receiving their emails. As well, the 25% off for booking 60 days in advance is now only 20%. Besides those who get comped rooms, is anyone having luck finding good pricing for this property? Heck, Wynncore is a good 100 less a night on the dates I want to go.

VP hasn't been very promotional for a while. Other than the 20% advance booking, you might be able to find something on a third party travel site if you're lucky. They just don't need to do it.

That 33% off promotion was an ad buy by V/P themselves. I thought it was rather interesting that they'd do that!

That is interesting. I have seen them do that, but way back, haven't come across one in a long long time.

VP stopped being nice some years ago. Luckily I reached the platunim level quickly and dont have to deal with that. If I did, I would be at another property for sure. What dates are you looking for? Remember that when they have conventions at the Sands Expo, everyone stays at the VP and price goes waaaay up for no good reason.

We were bummed out enough when the offers stopped rolling in. V/P was always a favorite of ours. Seems lately they are making it worse though. For three straight months now I'm getting mailers with comp nights, but they can never honor it on the days we are looking for. This last one came over this past weekend offering three nights in September. We happen to be coming in midweek and thought maybe this one would fit. No such luck. Mid-week, middle of September and no go. We finally asked them if there were ANY 3 consecutive days in September that they could honor the offer that they sent. They told us that there were two sets of dates in the entire month that were available. Guess I'm just getting cranky in my old age, but it has just made me not even want to drop in there anymore. Oh well...

For what its worth the biggest Optometry industry Expo is at that time. NOBODY is getting comps at that time.

This is why I don't bother with them any more even though I really love Palazzo. It's been this way for a couple of years for me. Too many blackout dates to put a decent stay together.

For me best deal if you're trying to get in door is Priceline express deals. I've snagged a Saturday through Tuesday for $500 all in. Beauty about express deals in north strip casino is your guaranteed V/P or Wynncore for five star.

As you can tell from this thread, the primary marketing objective for Sands V/P is to fill their hotels and convention space with major events-they want mid-size and large groups to be self contained on their property. Because of the adjacent event space, they're very successful with this approach and they're maybe more oriented to conventions than any other Strip property (Mandalay not too far behind). They're not bad when there isn't a significant event going on, but otherwise they're not going out of their way to attract independent travelers.

Pretty much all Strip properties suspend 'deals' and discounts when they can fill up with a convention or event. At the most extreme level, try booking a room during CES in January or ICSC/Recon in May.

We do not stay at V/P (we do like some of the tenant restaurants), but we have friends who do-they're flexible enough to schedule around events. We get more 'deals' available during more days of the year at Wynn than they do at Palazzo, but Wynn has peak periods like everyone else.

Supply and demand at work-nothing new about this discussion.

The best way to do this is by getting some grazie status. It just takes a couple trips of billing everything to your room to get gold or platinum status. At that point you can get casino rates, which are just as good as priceline etc. But yeah, the property caters to conventions and people who dont attend conventions here will end up paying through the nose or never finding a way to put together a few comp days. I attend a couple conventions there each year so it works out, but its hard for my other family members to join us because of the situation mentioned above.

i don't under venetian/palazzo's comps and offers (but i'm not complaining right now)

so YEARS ago, V/P was awesome
then they took away all the great comps
so i had been staying at caesars palace almost exclusively and spread my gambling among caesars, bellagio, and cosmo

i happened to play a little bit at V/P last fall ... and the free room + $500 freeplay + $200 dining credit offers have been rolling in ever since
i've taken advantage of the offer 5 times in the past year (twice in this month) with 1 more trip already booked
the funny thing is i am still at the basic level grazie membership
but V/P keeps sending the same monthly offers with the occasional special event invite as well

I got the same offer in the mail! I tried booking and they'd only honor one day. I might go through with it. Something about staying at that casino makes my vegas trips much much more enjoyable.

So with V/P the comps are not based on Grazie level exclusively. Nor do they bump up your Grazie status based on your play, which is very odd to me. Your Grazie status seems to be more based on your spending inside the property. I initially achieved Platinum level Grazie by one new years trip we made where I reserved 3 rooms and paid regular price for those rooms, as well as, billing all the food and beverages to our rooms. We obviously spent a lot of money, but we did not gamble much that trip. My brother on the other hand gambles like a mad man on several later trips and has been getting those offers (like you mention above) very regularly, yet hes still purple Grazie status. Go figure!

Nifty signature: hover your mouse on your name at the top right of any page, chose countdown timer from the menu that pops up. The rest is self explanatory.

That isn't really true (re: bumping of status). There are a variety of ways to earn points, and your status is directly determined by the number of points you earn. You earn points by gambling (slots and V/P, no table games) and charging to your room. Its the same basic system everyone else uses. We earn our status completely with our play, as our room charges are almost always comped. Keep in mind that you don't earn points for table games (which is the norm on the strip anymore, aside from TR properties), so if that's what your brother is playing, he wouldn't earn points to advance in level no matter how much he gambles.

Interesting point you bring up. I would say my brother primarily plays on tables and drops 10-20K each trip. He gets tons of comp room offers but carries around a purple Grazie card. LOL!

    pretty similar situation as me
i was rated at average bets of $375 to $450/hour for 5-6 hours each at both palazzo and caesars palace this past weekend
i am on my way to aspiration level 1 in diamond for total rewards
still basic purple grazie at V/P

can the offers be upgraded this soon?
i just got a new email with november offer of $700 free bet + $250 dining credit + 2 show tickets
