    My Trip Report

The state of casinos in MA continues to be a drawn out and annoying affair. Dh and I were coming home from breakfast at a Cracker Barrel and took the exit to Plainridge as I have never been there before and he had a mailer for free slot play.. It was a race track converted to a slot parlor--no table games or bookie room. It looked quite nice.

The free slot play worked out well for him. After getting many small wins and playing for quite a while. I convinced him to take the $30 he accumulated and allow us to leave.

What I did think was a great idea was that they had a free serve yourself beverage bar with ice, coffee, tea, soft drinks and water. I made myself an iced coffee for the road---that worked out perfectly for me.

I haven't been there since I sold my race horses a few years ago.
it's about a 90 minute drive for me..about the same to the indian casinos in CT
I hit MS or the 'Woods once in a while but i'd rather save my money and fly non stop to Vegas...

I agree with you. We haven't gone down 95 to CT for many years. Much rather make the flight to LV

We live a half hour from Plainridge, and it is nice for a brief visit, if you can't get elsewhere. I also like the self-serve drinks.

I wish Wynn was building in Foxboro instead of where he ended up. Sigh....

With the Taunton Indian casino looking like a dead issue, we don't have much to pick from without a drive.

Its cheaper and faster for me to fly out one way to Vegas than to drive up and back and spend the night in CT casinos, Some one night visits are more than a week in Vegas for me. BTW Twin Rivers just smells like an ashtray, the smoke is awful in there :yuck:

I went to Plainridge for the pre-opening and I really didn't like much about it. To be fair, it was packed and they had LOUD music which may have been for the opening, but overall it didn't impress me. It's about an hour and 15 from me.

I go to Twin Rivers which is about an hour and forty from here a couple times a year with friends, but I am not a fan. It takes something like a free cruise to get me to bother. MoSun & Foxwoods are 2 hours from me. Although I prefer the Sun, I have been hitting up the Woods once a month or so for the easy comps and good concerts. I have zero expectation of winning when I go, so that takes the fun out of it.

I can't get enough of Vegas!!

I enjoyed the complimentary pop at our local--until they switched from Pepsi to Coke products. Now I have to carry-in my own Mt. Dew! (First world problems! :faint:)

Was is mainly penny and nickel slots? Much for "high rollers"?

    Thanks for sharing!

They had a variety of slots--penny to dollar and all different types. I play video poker and I didn't
    see any of those

I've been to Plainridge a couple of times. I hate that they don't have any video keno. Their video poker is slim pickings also. So we run in, check to see if they have added keno yet - then jump in the car and drive another 15 minutes to Twin River where they do have video keno.
