Wanted to let everyone here on VMB be the first to know that the Plaza is now allowing free slot play on it's Video Poker machines.

Thank you again to everyone on their feedback and opinions. Hope to see everyone downtown soon!

Does this mean we can use free play at the front bar?

Both the Omaha (front bar) and Race and Sports Bar (south bar) accept FSP!

I just read that you've downgraded the video poker paytables. This is a huge step backwards. I don't understand how the Plaza is going to build any kind of a following with stupid moves like this. Yes you can play your freeplay on video poker now! (like every other casino in Vegas) and.... we're cutting the paytables to punish you for it.

Every time I start to think the Plaza is a viable alternative for my play downtown, you pull something like this. I give up.

You could always use your FP at the sportsbook bar, but the paytables were awful. Now if they are allowing FP at Omaha, but cut the paytables, I can just start tossing my mailers. Decent VP paytables was the only reason we considered Plaza.

Agree Joe the only reason I stepped into Plaza was the good paytables. Now it is not worth my time.

vpfree2 reports 30 machines removed or downgraded. Perhaps there are still other full pay machines. I'll bet you, though, that the free play is only usable on the downgraded machines.

Yesterday someone reported to vpFREE2 that only the 5c and 10c denominations were downgraded on the good machines, not the 25c and up.

Also 7 pf the 24 good machines beside the Sportsbook Bar have been removed. They still have 17 there plus 5 by Hash House a GoGo plus the ones at the Omaha Bar.

    See what changed: http://www.vpfree2.com/video-poker/recent-updates/plaza-hotel-casino

And what's there now according to people who have reported to vpFREE2: http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/plaza-hotel-casino

Thanks for the update. This has changed since I first saw it. The number of MIA machines has grown to 7 from 6 and the nickel and dime denoms are specified as being lowered. Not as bad as I thought, but still pisses me off.

Just to clear up any confusion on this thread, we only downgraded the paytables on the 5c and 10c denominations when we allowed Free Slot Play on most VP machines.

We also removed some machines to make room for a whole bunch of new reels as well as a sit-down Craps machine by Race and Sportsbook Bar. We still offer some of the best VP machines in town.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
