So will be hitting our favorite city again in about 4 weeks. I'm staying 2 nights at the Orleans and 4 at Bally's, all comped. (Even used a chunk of my Rapid Reward miles for the flight so it is sort of a free trip) Will focus most of my play at the Orleans (and maybe Gold Coast) on the first 2 nights and most at the various CET properties after that. Just need about 5K to hit Sapphire with Boyd and usually average around 500-700 TC's a day when I play at CET properties, where I am Diamond, mostly due to play at a local TR casino.

Even though I've gotten a little smarter about when and where to play to maximize my comp returns, I do still like to wander around a bit and play different places. Have stayed and played at the Hard Rock enough over the past few years that I can usually get a comped room there but am sort of tired of the place right now. My play at MLife never seems to generate much in the way of comps outside of a night or two here and there. I'm sure I could do better if I played at Excalibur or Luxor but I don't really like their lower end properties and would just as soon stay at the Flamingo or Harrahs. I would love to stay downtown from time to time but I'm not going to turn down free rooms on the Strip or close to it to do so. Have stayed at both Fremont and MSS in the past and liked it but playing around $5K one afternoon between those two on my most recent trip hasn't generated any sort of offers so about to give up on them.

So....any thoughts on a good third option, either on or off strip or downtown? One where a $3-5K day might generate some good room comps, at least during the week? I would think that that wouldn't accomplish much at Wynn, Venetian or Cosmo but maybe TI or the Trop? Well, just curious what the board might think. Thanks in advance!

Are TI or Trop that much better than Excalibur and Luxor? If so, give one of those a shot. But if the latter two properties are too low end for you, I am not confident TI or Trop will satisfy you. maybe move off strip and try somewhere like the M or Red Rock

TI or Tropicana do come to mind, although I'm not familiar with their comp requirements.

How far past the Diamond threshold are you? You probably want to keep that because of the waived resort fees in Vegas, but if you're well above it, one alternative would be to cut back your visits to local CETs and add that to your Vegas bankroll and aim at MGM Grand.

I would imagine Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock would like your play level. My buddy and I play much less than that, but we did get comped rooms for awhile a couple years. They are pretty nice properties if you have not been.GL

Yes - GVR, Red Rock and the M Resort are good options - especially if you don't have any history with them.

Try a place like the Silverton or South Point if they aren't too far away for you. Trop would make sense because it is linked to M Resort now, too. Back in the day, Wynn used to send good intro offers for new players with four hours play. I don't know if that's still the case.

Was kind of thinking about Tropicana since it is also South Strip, if I wanted to stay down that way, and is now linked to not only the M but to two casinos within an hour's drive of me in Kansas City. Don't know how integrated the Marquee Rewards club is but would be nice to have both a local and Vegas connection on the same account. That has worked out very well for me with Total Rewards. I love Red Rock and like most all of the off-strip properties that have been mentioned but I think I would want to have a car if I stayed at any of them and I'm not a huge fan of doing that. Still, the idea of spending a day/night at Red Rock is pretty appealing..

I put $400 in play at Palace Station (can't have been much more than like $3000 coin in total) and they've started sending me VIP events and 3 free night offers...might try them?

Stopped at Silverton last year for a couple of hours before the returning rental car. Nice little place. Even the wife, said she wouldn't mind staying there. A lot nicer than some of the other dumps I've played in. Ellis I. Casino R. most of Downtown. No mailers though just a couple of emails

Tower rooms at Palace Station are actually very nice and the location isn't that bad. Playing up there isn't a bad idea. If I do enough coin-in, it might attract offers from Red Rock or GVR (or Palms going forward) and, if not, maybe it at least puts Palace in play.
