I haven't been to Top of the World. I have been to the Level 107 Bar at the top of The STRAT ; it was nice and the view was wonderful.

However, for the kind of meal you are talking about--and since cost is not an issue--may I recommend Alizé at the top of the Palms casino (http://alizelv.com/). Just last week we had our 20th anniversary dinner there. Everything was spectacular: the food, the view, the service. It was probably the most memorable meal of my life. And for being a fine-dining, French restaurant, I would not call it stuffy. Very approachable servers who were also incredibly attentive.

You may need to define "worth it". Is it the view you're looking for? Or an exceptional food experience?

The view is outstanding. The restaurant revolves, so if you linger, you get a 360-degree view of the valley. I believe it takes a little over an hour to make a full turn. I love going just before sunset so we can see it and watch the lights come up.

The food is pretty standard restaurant fare. You pay a premium for the view. Food was well prepared, but not the most memorable food I've had in Vegas. I mostly remember the view. ;)

You might give this thread a glance for some other ideas if memorable food is your goal - https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/favorite-knock-your-socks-off-meal-vegas-edition.133396/

We have enjoyed lunch there numerous times. The prices are cheaper and the food and service have always been excellent. It's very relaxing with great views.

The other thing to consider is what your parents think about what great food is. The snob in me likes the great steakhouses and culinary cuisines of high-end restaurants. But sometimes when taking my parents out to dinner, I have to consider that they like places like Black Angus Restaurant and don't think much of restaurants which cost an arm, two legs, a soul, and a firstborn. But a nice view might be more memorable to them than the food.

This is a great point, if my Dad saw the prices of the high end Restaurants he would never enjoy the meal even if I was picking up the bill.

You won't regret having dinner at Top Of The World. Can you find better restaurants in Vegas? Sure. But the food is really good, the atmosphere is great, and the view is unbeatable. From the moment you come within range of the Strat, you're party will start getting excited because of the shear scale of the building and the fact you're going to be going "all the way up there" for dinner. The elevator ride is exciting. When you get to the top, it's definitely an experience stepping off the elevator.
The whole restaurant rotates, so you get to see a 360 view.
We've had dinner there many times. Just a couple years ago we took our daughter there for dinner (sweet 16). She opened her presents, and they brought her a really nice b-day cake dessert.

The first time I had dinner there was a long time ago (late 90's.) After dinner, several of us went up to the observation deck and smoked cigars. I don't think you can do that anymore lol.

Definitely go. You won't regret it!
