Best Spot to watch Week 1 NFL Panthers/Broncos rematch

Mods, I'm not sure this thread qualifies as miscellaneous or sports book, but modify as you see fit. The question is the thread title pretty much. My friend, the Vegas newb, and I will catch the game somewhere. My initial thoughts are the MGM sports book since that's where we'll be living. I believe my preference is a sports book, but being that I've never watched a game at a sports book, what perks would we be missing? Would a spot like Lagasse Stadium offer the same viewing comforts but with better food? How tough is it to score drinks and food from a sports book? We will place bets on this game and probably others as well.

 

Sportsbooks are fun places to watch NFL games, but a couple things to remember. First, get there early. Like, hours early. Seats are limited and they fill up fast for NFL games. You will not get free drinks or food at the MGM Grand book, although a cocktail waitress will come around and you can buy drinks. If you're wanting food while you watch, you should probably try and get a seat at Tap, just across from the sportsbook. Lots of TVs and they have food

 

The Pub at Monte Carlo would be my choice. Great beer selection and good food. Scores of tvs and great sound. They used to have a satellite book just outside the restaurant.

 

Selfish question... Does the Pub not have satellite betting anymore? I need that for Sunday betting in October.

 

Lagasse is the primo place to watch a game, but be prepared to pay. The experts can weigh in on this, but I'm sure they have a minimum and you are going to need a reservation. Like I said, there are people more knowledgeable than me.

My preference is the Mirage Sports Book. Place all the bets you want but there is a $100 minimum to get a drink ticket. Get there an hour early to stake out a spot. Seating and big screen tv's are excellent. The Sports Bar will be busy, so be prepared to get a couple of drinks in advance.

It gets crowded and exciting with people cheering on their teams or their bets.

I would love to be there.

 

Breeze and others willing to lend there expertise . I am going to Venetian in October 9 thru 12 and have plans to watch Sunday night game at Lagasse stadium. Just figured to be able to stroll in place a bet then find 2 bar stools for my wife and I. We have never been to Lagasse so My question is will we need reservations for just two seats at a bar or are reservations needed for table seating only. Thank you for your input

 

I think it's a matter of what you are looking for. Just want to watch the game or watch, eat, and drink.

We watched a ton of games at the Harrahs sports book when we stayed there last December on Saturday and Sunday. We found 3 seats at the bar to watch the games while also playing video poker. The drinks kept coming and we were able to run over to the Fulton Street Food Hall to grab something to bring back to the bar to eat. I'm not suggesting going to Harrahs to do watch the game, but you can have an enjoyable time at a sport book.

 

For sports books I'd agree with Breeze about the Mirage sports book, its my favorite place to watch a game. They have really comfy big chairs and the TVs are fantastic. My second choice would be MGM. Honorable mention would be Tropicana. I went in their sports book a few weeks ago and it really seemed nice, but somewhat small. I was pleasantly surprised.

For non sports books 777 at MSS is always good and I've never had a bad time hanging out any of the bars at MB watching a game.

I watched the Broncos/Chargers playoff game two years ago at Lagasse stadium and that where I'd choose if I wanted to make sure I had a place to watch the game. Having a reservation was nice since I could show up at game time and know I had a spot. I think it was a minimum of $100 or $150 per person but I had a couple of buckets of beer, steak Sandwich (it was amazing), wings and then got a pizza to go since I wasn't at the minimum.

Another option would be the caesars sports book. I've reserved there before but you can now at http://loungereserve.com/caesarsrace/availability/2016-09-08/2016-09-08/lounge_chair/. $35 for just a seat or $150 for seat and unlimited drinks all day. With the $150 you get a wristband and can come and go all day from 10:00 am till last game finishes.

 

I'll agree with others about the mirage sports book. They have huge HD screens and lots of seats.

Last October my group took them up on a deal of $150 per person. This gets you a reserved couch and unlimited Budweiser brand drinks and whiskey drinks (can't remember the brand of whiskey because I always stick with beer). But you can come and go from the first game of the day until the end of the Sunday night game. Hard to beat in my opinion.

 

Good info. Do you know if this is available for just one person. I'm going solo for Thanksgiving weekend to watch all the college football rivalry games that weekend. I'm not staying at Mirage if that makes a difference.

I believe it is available on an individual basis. We reserved a couch for 3 guys but they may have other seating options, I just can't remember.

And we were staying at Aria on that particular trip, so staying at mirage was not a requirement.

If I remember correctly, I just called the concierge at mirage and asked to book a couch at the sports book for that Sunday and they connected me to the right person. It was easy to set up and drink service was awesome once we were there.

Haven't been in a year or so. I know they have satellite for nfl but not sure it would be open for a 9 am college game. The casino sports book is only a couple minutes away.

Hoping not to be seen as hi-jacking this thread but wondering if the books get lighter on Sunday afternoons for NFL? Going Sept. 25th and was thinking of doing Lagasse's in the morning and then moving on for the afternoon portion of the program (don't really feel like doing a $200 F&B minimum day). I will be solo so thinking with the mass exodus of visitors on Sunday that there may be more room in a book during the afternoon games, thinking Mirage book for the five afternoon tilts.

 

Every book on Saturday and Sunday is packed 2 hours before gametime and doesnt let up till after halftime of the last game played.

The Westgate and you'll be hooked. They have a huge theatre next to a beautiful new sportsbook great Vegas vibe. We were Stratosphere for NFL and Bellagio for NCAA now were a Westgate group . Try to at least check it out

 

Any advice on how early to get there? It sounds like there is a ton of seating so I shouldn't be too worried about getting there too too early. I'm actually unfortunately staying at the Hilton Vacations on the Boulevard so Westgate is pretty close. May be the move.
