Ratio of Vegas Trips vs Other Places

I go to Vegas about once every three vacations. This time, we're combining it with an extended vacation in Hawaii, because Vegas is halfway between New Jersey and Maui. (The United States is a freaking HUGE country.)

 

We are now still fortunate to be able to have 3 10 days in LV yearly. We used to do other venues (Fort Lauderdale/Nassau/Phoenix...) but she hasn't worked since 02/'15 so lucky we can still do what we like best.

Up until 3 years ago, I did 4 trips a year to Las Vegas and a couple of side trips to Atlantic City along with Myrtle Beach trip every September. Now I go to AC 4 times a year, Vegas 2 and still do Myrtle Beach in September.
The higher cost of flying, resort fees, parking fees, higher food cost and less favorable gambling options has made me switch to AC more often, a 4 hour drive beats a 5 hour flight, dealing with airport security and such. Plus it seems to me the service at the front desks, restaurant waiters, cocktail waitresses and dealers has all gone down in the last 5 years making my trips not as enjoyable.
When I do go to Vegas now, I avoid the strip and their ridiculous fees and $15 hamburgers and prefer to stay at off-strip properties

 

Once or twice to Vegas. Maybe one or two other places once a year.

 

My sisters and I go to Vegas once a year (would be more, but...life). My other travel is work-related (just got in from Orlando yesterday) or visiting family in Philly or going w/them to Atlantic City.

 

Since my first time in 2010, when I fell in love, I have been nowhere else than to Las Vegas. I try to go ones a year and for as long as possible, and if I had the free days and money for another holiday, then it would be to Vegas as well.

 

You're in Atlanta and get to Cherokee while I'm in NC and have never made it. I intend to change that if only to experience the difference between local casinos and Vegas.

 

Vegas used to be once a year for me for a solid week; now it is once every two years for about 6 days 5 nights.

Last visit was August 2014 and we will be there later this month. This may be the last Vegas trip for some time. Definitely won't be back in 2017 - not a money issue but rather time. Starting to spend PTO at beach venues, cruises, islands, and family destinations.

 

Since I turned 21 I have been on 35 trips (not including business trips), 25 of them were to Vegas

I do Vegas about 2-3 times a year. I probably should try going someplace else, and God knows people give me enough crap for my Vegas addiction; however, Vegas just makes me so happy it's difficult to break free. Plus, I'm so close to reaching my goal of having been there every month out of the year.

 

I hear ya! I strive for 2-3 times annually and catch crap for going that much from others. Vegas fulfills my vacationing needs/desires/debauchery on so many levels. So much so, I've failed completion on two previous TRs. I guess Ill convert to trip followups from live/semi-live attempts.

 

last year did 8 trips to Vegas, 7 were solo. Had only one other trip (with the wife). This coming trip will be my 5th and possibly last this year (all solo). We have a cruise booked for my favorite time to do Vegas, the week-end after Thanksgiving. I'm dying about breaking that tradition, but come on, only one trip with the wife a year, gotta do it. All those solo trips more than make up for it!

 

Usually 10-14 Las Vegas trips a year. 7 other flying trips a year. 20% of all trips are business.

for the first time, this upcoming will be my 3rd Vegas trip this year. It's usually 1-2. Other that that, it's AC every 2 months. Plus 2 trout fishing trips to my personal Mecca- The Rapidan River.

 

Vegas to other places is probably 2:1 for me. Typically do 5 or 6 trips to Vegas a year but also go to Vancouver 3 or 4 times and then occasionally Disneyland or somewhere else as well.

 

Lately, it's mostly been Vegas or Disney World for ~5-7 day trips.

Since Sept. 2010:
Disney World: 5 times
Vegas: 13 times (includes one solo trip for me and one combo trip with Disneyland)
(2 vs. 2 for the last 12 months)

We also have probably run off to Tunica about 2 dozen times for ~3 nights in that time frame, including last weekend...
Kansas City ~5 times
Wisconsin Dells twice
Cincinnati and Indianapolis once

 

We visit Vegas at least once a year sometimes twice. Our home casino, Harrah's Cherokee is only a 3 hour drive so we visit it at least once a month.... when we don't have a major trip planned like Reno this month.

 

Going to Vegas isn't a vacation. It's a natural instinct, like eating or using the restroom. Every 6 months or so, it just has to happen.

 

Are we talking about "other places" where we have a hotel stay? If that's the case, then my ratio is about 6-to-1.
If the criteria is: Hotel stay + Arrived via air travel, then my ratio is about 8-to-1.
