Thanksgiving Buffets

Family is looking at doing Vegas during Thanksgiving. Of course they wanna do a buffet. We will probably stay at either Aria or Bellagio. Now I am platinum with MLife, so how are the MGM buffets during Thanksgiving and on Thanksgiving do they still do the line passes if you have a premium card?

 

Thanksgiving is the biggest day of the year for buffet, seems like all the locals dont cook and hit them, lines are always 2-3 hours long if not more, usually its a madhouse

Been there at T-day. Lines are terrible. Even with a line pass it will be crazy. We just went to a restaurant that day.

I don't think ANYONE in Vegas cooks that day.

 

What restaurant should we try ? Any help would do, there will be 6 of us

 

Even with the line pass it's a 1+ hour wait at the Aria buffet. We gave up and went to the Cafe, which was crowded but line pass got us in right away. Food was just so-so and service was horrible, though.

 

Stayed in Vegas during Thanksgiving a couple of years ago, and never have seen buffet lines so long....at least a 2 to 3 hour wait. Lines were full of locals....no one in Vegas cooks at home on Thanksgiving. Many of the restaurants offer Thanksgiving dinner specials...traditional fare without the long lines if you make a reservation....that's what I did and had a great meal.

 

The line pass just good for the cashier line. Once you've paid, you still need to wait for table.
If it's fully packed (guaranteed!) and people are enjoying their once-a-year thanksgiving dinner,
even if you are Noir, you can't get a seat and have to wait 2-3 hours.

 

I'll be in Vegas this Thanksgiving, thanks for the tip. Just curious, which restaurant did you eat at on Thanksgiving day? Thx......

 

We made reservations before the trip for Mon Ami Gabi for their fixed price Thanksgiving dinner. The restaurant was busy, but with the reservation, we were seated immediately, in the glassed in area of the restaurant (too cold to sit out on the patio) and our waitress was terrific, even though she was busy. We were given a couple of different choices before the main course (salads vs soup); had turkey, dressing, potatoes, a veggie and a couple of choices for dessert to pick from. A few of glasses of Sauvignon Blanc helped to round out a very nice meal. I just couldn't see ourselves waiting in line for a couple of hours....not worth my valuable Vegas time!

Mozen at the Mandarin Oriental has a buffet setup on holidays. While it is expensive, the quality of the food makes it worth it. They generally have a seafood bar with crab, shrimp, and oysters, sushi, carving station, cheese board, salad bar, dessert bar and a menu selection. If you go, I would make reservations as soon as possible. If you change your mind you can always cancel. They will post their menu on their website a few weeks before Thanksgiving.
