    My Trip Report

Headed out to Vegas tomorrow on pretty much a spur-of-the-moment trip, will post updates here.

For some context, I had a week of Vegas/NBA Summer League all mapped out for earlier this month but had to cancel those plans because my position at work got unexpectedly cut earlier this summer. Fast forward to last week when I accepted a new job offer and found out that I'll have a few days before my start date - I said 'hell with it' and booked a quick Vegas trip.

Flying out of Baltimore EARLY tomorrow morning. Upon landing in Vegas I'll grab my rental car & go off-the-grid for a while as I attempt to check something off of my bucket list in Utah. Should be back to Vegas around 'normal' check-in time to settle into my digs at the Cosmo. My marketing offer is the generic "2 comped midweek nights in a City Room" but I went ahead and asked to be upgraded to a Terrace Studio w/Fountain View. I've really wanted a fountain view Terrace room and was bummed when I took my chances & didn't get one last summer, so I don't mind paying for it out of pocket ahead of time.

No real concrete goals for this trip other than to enjoy doing what I want, when I want. On the gambling front my bankroll will be about $1k - games of choice will probably be roulette, VP, and pai gow with possibly some blackjack and bubble craps thrown in there as well. Would love to book a winning trip for the first time, so right now my game-plan is to focus on short hit-and-run sessions and let those add up over the course of my stay, but that's easier aid than done...

Less than 24 hours and I'll be in the air!

I like the premise. What happens at Cosmo when you stay there for two days midweek with a gambling bankroll of $1K? Will it be depleted in an hour? Will it multiply? Will there be a nice Eggslut breakfast? Some Jaleo tapas? More? Good luck!

Good luck. Sounds like an excellent way to wind down before a new job.

Thank you! The bankroll will not be depleted in an hour, of that I am sure haha

Thanks! Definitely excited about the new job but more excited about Vegas at the moment.

    Thanks! I hope so too!

    Thank ya!

Thanks emmas! I figure I may never get a chance to do something this spontaneous so I may as well go for it!

At my gate at BWI - boarding in under an hour. Glad I booked a flight out this early in the day but I also suspect I'll be feeling the lack of sleep later on today.

Plan for the flight is a bourbon & ginger ale or two then try to sleep for a few hours on the plane.

Good luck! Have a great trip!
Photos of the new Cosmo sportsbook would be appreciated.

For VP at Aria, someone can keep me right, but there is a bank a of machines on the casino floor which are supposed to be pretty good. Row 811 or something like that? They have multipliers. We found them pretty easily when we were there in August.

Flight was uneventful - I fell asleep as soon as I got settled in my seat & didn't get a chance to order any drinks. Not the end of the world.

Just picked up the rental car & about to start the drive to Utah - next update will likely be from the Cosmo later this afternoon.

Back in Vegas! Caught a couple of fish in Utah so I can now cross that one off the list.

It gets hot in the desert in July, who knew?

Got checked into the room with one small snafu - keys didn't work because the clerk wrote down the wrong room number. They got it sorted out on the next try & gave me a $30 food credit for my troubles lol. Going to get some food/drink in my system before finally doing some gambling.

Ate from the happy hour menu at China Poblano - got a quesadilla, an order of wings, and the street pork sandwich.

One of these days I will see that view with my own eyes. Simply amazing every time I see it.
