    Hey all,

So we are currently finalizing booking our next trip to Vegas for May '17.

Previously we have stayed at the Cosmo twice and Casears once.

This time we felt the Cosmo ( Belligio fountain room) was slightly out of our price range so we looked elsewhere.

We were all set to book the an Aria strip view room when we spotted the Wynn deluxe panoramic King room at almost an identical price.

My father swears by the Wynn and has stayed there on his past 5 occasions, but we love the Cosmo/aria location much better.

Based on both hotels being the same price, where do you stay?

Wynn is a really nice hotel and they have those awesome beds. Loved my stay there. But I do love the area around the Aria as well. The Aria is a different vibe and I totally dig it. Love the more relaxed atmosphere of it. Cant go wrong with either.

I'm stayed at both this November. Aria for first night I fly in and Wynn for 2 nights. My Aria was comped via myvegas (beside resort fee $35) and I paid with a Wynninsider + representative help promo for Wynn. So obviously my choice is Wynn. I've stayed at both (well more specifically, Encore) and I like Wynncore more then Aria. I do like Aria's location more but Wynn wins by my book due to a) ambiance b) resturants c) hotel room set up (Encore at least) and d) overall feel of the casino resort.

The Aria's pool was very nice though, probably better then Wynn imo.

Those are my two favorite resorts on the Strip. You really cannot go wrong. Here is my breakdown comparison:

CASINO: Definite edge to Aria. Better rules at BJ and craps. Wynn has a bit more of a luxury vibe and Aria feels more modern. Wynn has a better sportsbook, but only by a hair. Both have nice poker rooms. The better rules make a difference to me.

DINING: Push. Both resorts have awesome restaurants. Julian Serrano, Mizumi, 550, Zoosacrackers, La Cave, Carbone, so many good places to eat at both places.

LOCATION: Push. Depends on what you like. If you like a bit more of a crowd, then Aria is the way to go. its more centrally located. Wynn has less congestion and crowds at its end of the Strip, which has its benefits as well.

SPA: Aria, but only by a hair. The Wynn spa is overpriced for what you get, but the Encore spa is tremendous. I have always ranked the aria spa first on the Strip, but I am starting to lean more toward Encore these days. Will make a final decision after my next visit there

LUXURY: Wynn. Its prettier, more upscale, and has better service

ENTERTAINMENT: Since Aria really doesn't have any these days, this category goes to Wynn by default

POOL: Wynn. Different levels, good service, and fun without having an overwhelming party vibe

Really, you cannot go wrong. Enjoy

If it's roughly the same price, then Wynn. Aria's center Strip location is a little better for walking. I think Wynn has the best overall on premises casual and fine dining choices on the Strip, but nothing wrong with Aria's food and beverage. Wynn feels more luxurious and a little less busy throughout. We are definitely Wynn fans, but I can't be against an Aria choice. But, you asked for a recommendation, so Wynn.

Wynn used to be my home base in Vegas. Now I moved to Bellagio and Aria.
In terms of luxury, Wynn is a notch or two higher than Aria.
In my opinion, Wynn/Encore's standard rooms beat any other standard rooms
(and most of the suites from other hotels) on the Strip.

Every trip I have to visit both Aria and Wynn -
    1. I usually stay at Wynn - upscale, luxurious, away but not too far from the center.
    2. Fashion mall is just across the road from Wynn - adds to the shopping and food options.
    3. Not sure if this is just a perception but I have found Wynn staff extremely courteous.

    You win with Wynn.

(You win with aria too but I wanted to be poetic)

Long ago my brother in law told me fanatically about a new hotel opening, I thought at that time it was called, "The Nguyen". Because he only talked about Asian style hotels. Lol

Another vote for Wynn. Aria's casino feels like a cold, dark warehouse.

Wynn > Aria but Aria's location is much better IMHO. So I would go with Aria.

You say you love the location of the Cosmo/Aria, so you should go with the Aria over Wynn.

Wynn might be a little more "luxurious," but if you stay there I suspect you will regret it due to the long walk you'll have to take to get anywhere.

At least, that's how I felt when I stayed at the Wynn...

If you have a car, Wynn wins hands down. Rooms are comparable, However, I personally don't like the bathrooms at Aria as much. Both times we stayed there we got a room that had one of those soaking tubs inside the shower area, which is weird. I like the shower and tub areas separate. Wynn also has the Showcase Mall right across the street too.

    Agree with UK.
    Overall it is close.
I will not stay at Wynn since they downgraded the table games.

Wynn has downgraded their table games as much or more than Aria and MGM properties. It's about a wash. I started out saying that I'd not stay at MGM properties because they'd wrecked table games and played nickel and dime. Wynn has eroded table games also, but does not nickel and dime. We pay through the nose at. Wynn , but in the Tower Suites room and tax is about all you see on your bill. Alas, finding a lower limit 3:2 blackjack table at either property is about gone and both Aria and Wynn will have double odds craps except for high limit.

Maybe it's just better to go downtown or off Strip again. I did that when I was young and broke and liked it just fine.

I think I'm getting old and cranky-I just don't see much of anything which I think has gotten better over the last three years. I see a lot which has gotten worse.

When did Aria go to 2x odds at craps? I missed that.

They were in May unless you were betting a lot. So was Bellagio. Maybe they switched back because of the outcry. 6:5 blackjack too at $25 and below on the evenings I was there. I left.

MGM did not go to 2x odds.
You are right about low limit BJ games under $25 .
    Craps has always been 3x4x5x.
I was there in May and June and it did not vary

When I was at Aria over Memorial Day it was 3X4X5X too. If they've gone to two times, I am over ruling the wife and switching to Cosmo.

I've never stayed at the Wynn but love the Aria. If location is crucial to you I would probably lean toward Aria. I think what has been described above has been pretty accurate.
