Got an email this morning from MGM Resorts.
I will be updating the Resort Fee thread to reflect these increases.

What do they attribute the increase to?? Simply inflation? [emoji58]

I don't have an answer to that, saintpauljeff. Sorry.

Aside from that sentence, a chart with the fees and taxes for all hotels, it just had this verbiage they want affiliates to use, which I have posted before in the RF thread.

Nah. They figure they can get it.
    Parking fees. Resort Fees.

I think they have noticed the the banks and airlines can make LOTS of money with extra fees. So, away they go.

Not unlike certain machines giving less Mlife points - as if they did not already set the hold at terrible rates.

MGM Resorts must increase profits any way it can to satisfy the Wall Street investment community as part of its previously announced Profit Growth Plan.

Maybe I missed this on another thread, but for awhile now it seems as if MGM restaurants don't post menu prices online. I read somewhere that prices may increase based on demand, just like hotel rooms.

Keep it up Jim Murren, you can shear a sheep over and over but you can skin it only once.

They don't have to attribute it to anything or give a reason. They just can like any hotel.

Obviously it's because they are on par with Aria and Bellagio to warrant higher resort fees. ..duh.

I hope you do realize that the "reason" you may get is often far from the TRUTH. Sometimes, a company or person will manufacture a reason just to get rid of people.

    Just a heads up.

May want to update thread title to 2016 and not 2017. :)

Glad it won't affect my upcoming trip.

Recently stayed at the Mirage and the between the "resort fee", the "parking fee", the $38 Buffet, the $16 cocktails, etc. I'm staying at other properties in the future. The room price should cover the room, the "resort" they provide should be to entice me to stay in their rooms and gamble in their casino.

I hate to have to pay for the privilege of supporting a business.

South Point and Boyd here I come...

Bye Mgm properties, last trip I think was my last stay at Delano with the new deposits and now resort fee increase plus the chaos getting in and out of the Garage

On my last trip of 3 free I had 2 free nights at MGM and had to pay for the third and resort fees on all 3 nights. We also had an invited guest offer from Treasure Island. None of the nights were free but they were very reasonable and you could opt out of the resort fees. We stayed there and it was cheaper than staying with 3 free nights at MGM. - At some point people do get their fill. I am not totally against resort fees, but I don't think I would want to stay anywhere where the resort fee was more than the room charge.

Perhaps the list of resort fees can also have parking fees added in the future.

I am sure soon enough the lower end hotels (NYNY, etc.) will increase the resort fees accordingly.
And the higher end ones (Bellagio and Aria) will increase as well.
