    Hi, everybody!

I've been a VMB stalker for the past three years and I love reading everyone's trip reports. They keep me going between trips. :D

My love affair with Las Vegas started in 2005 when a friend of mine, attending a convention at the Las Vegas Convention Center, told me he could get me a free hotel room at the (then) Las Vegas Hilton and would I like to come? Checking flight prices, I saw I could get a ticket for about $260 round trip so I said "sure." I had never gambled in my life (other than playing poker with friends), and I had zero clue what to do on a slot machine or a VP machine, but I LOVED IT! The sights, the sounds, the "ding, ding, ding" of the slots -- EVERYTHING! Thus began a torrid love affair that has lasted 11 years. Many, MANY times, I've thought about ending the relationship, usually after coming home with all of my bankroll gone, but after a few days, I'm already planning the next trip.

I normally visit Vegas twice per year (in May and November), three days per trip. In 2014, however, I started going three times a year, and this year I've already been twice and plan to go two more times before year-end.

I play mainly DDB VP triple play. I'm an avid follower of Royal Flusher and I follow his Strict Rules of Parlay (mostly....generally....who am I kidding -- I TRY to follow his rules, but sometimes all bets are off and I go straight for the $1 machines, especially if free play is involved). I will sometimes play the slots if 1) I can't find a VP machine with decent odds or 2) I can't get anything going on VP. I've been known to lose my ass on occasion but my gambling luck has probably been about 50/50 over the years (some really good trips, some really bad trips, some trips middle of the road).

In the past, I've stayed at the LVH, NYNY, MGM, Paris, Flamingo, Venetian/Palazzo, and for the last year or so, I've been staying at Caesars. I really like my host there and they give me great comps. I like to stay in that location because it's in the heart of everything. I spend the majority of my time gambling -- I am not a big foodie and I don't do much sightseeing, shopping, etc. There is no legalized gambling in Georgia (other than the lottery), so I try to cram as much of it in as possible while I'm there and it's not unusual to see me sitting at a VP machine at 4:00 in the morning if I'm having a good run.

Next trip is a solo trip planned for August, and after that, my birthday trip in November with the boyfriend.

Anyway, it's nice to be in the company of other degenerate gamblers who understand my love for Vegas!

Welcome to VMB! I was a big winner in your state lottery as I was passing through last month. I bought a $1 scratch-off just for kicks while refueling in Forsyth, GA but didn't get around to scratching it off until arriving home. Scratched it off to reveal a $2 "winner." Mailed it in and received a $2.00 check in the mail today.
That $2 was added to the "tip" portion of my bankroll for my upcoming trip.

Again, the warmest of welcomes to you as you look forward to your upcoming trips!

    RICHARD

Your winnings in the GA Lottery sound like my average winnings, Richard, and I play A LOT. If I'm lucky, I might even get $4.00. :D

Welcome to the neighborhood Sweng! My home casino is Harrah's Cherokee, NC. I'm in the Winston-Salem area of N.C. Me and my first wife (of 22 years next month) go to Wind Creek in Alabama on occasion. But no casino location that we have been to yet compares to Vegas! Great to have another East Coaster on the board :)

Thanks, RHT! There is nothing that compares to Vegas. The Beau Rivage in Biloxi is nice, but still no Vegas. ;)

I'm thinking I might have to do a trip report for my August trip. It's a solo trip, so it would be nice if I had people to share with.

Welcome Sweng, definitely try a trip report, it is a great way to remember some partially forgotten details! I read my one from last October again today just for me, it was great remembering what a great time the wife and I had last year while getting ready for this year's antics!

Welcome again, look forward to following along soon......
