    Cost...location...mini-fridge in the room...coffee maker...sitting area...view...etc.?

These days it's a high-number room with a view of the High-Roller or golf course when
we stay at the Palazzo. Near the elevators isn't a deal-breaker but nice to have.
Close to the ice machine is another plus. The seating area with the sectional couch
is comfy when resting up for a long day/night of gaming, eating good food, drinking and fun.
Not necessarily in that order. :poker::feedme::drunk::woot:

    What about you guys?

Honestly, for me it's cost. I don't spend a lot of time in the room and we try to live frugally when possible. Also, a bit of it is that we don't want to "get used" to luxury accommodations and not be able to enjoy staying at simple places. We are more holiday Inn /la Quinta type of people than four seasons type people.

Due to some health problems that pop up from time to time and traveling solo, I need to have room service available. I also like to have a good view. I prefer a nicely appointed room to a more bare bones room. A sofa is always nice, but not a deal breaker. I used to always look for a coffee maker, but now I have a small electric travel kettle to make my own. I've started to pack those via packets from Starbucks and my favorite creamer. It'll do. :)

My first night ritual goes like this: (I drive into Vegas, so it's a long two days on the road.) I arrive, check in, order some room service and unpack. I mix a cocktail and enjoy my dinner while looking out the window. Even better when this coincides with sunset and the lights coming up on The Strip. I relax and unwind and then I remember there is a casino downstairs and a 24/7 party outside. That's when I get that adrenaline rush and burst of energy that makes me shout, "I'M BACK IN VEGAS!!" :woohoo:It is the best feeling EVER!

I'm not afraid to casino hop, so the gaming doesn't matter too much. I typically don't play enough through to worry much about comps, but I do prefer it if there is some less than terrible VP available for late nights and early morning solo gambling.

After a terrible night at Planet Hollywood next to the elevators I always ask for a room further down the hall. But I also am not fond of the giant hike all the way to the end of the hall when I'm tired. Something in the middle works for me.

Location and cost. I don't spend any time in the room so as long as it's clean I usually don't have an issue with outdated or worn furniture.

I am typically comped at the lower end CET properties and, for what I use the rooms for, it suits me fine.

My mom has us comped at Palazzo and Cosmo for this upcoming trip. It will be cool to stay in a higher-caliber place but ending up at Harrahs again would not impact my enjoyment at all.

After staying at Aria twice we swore we would try somewhere else in the MGM family but I booked Aria again for the comfy bed and the bathroom. We love the tub shower combo. Both times we lucked out near the elevator and ice machine. We were high up last year and had a pretty good view of things.

Of course they were super terrific on the price and upgrades when I called that I couldn't say no.

Location, cost and trying somewhere new! Have done 7 trips but quite spaced out (not easy from the UK with family to think about as well) and stayed at 10 different hotels, so for me, trying a new 'home' is great. If it doesn't live up to expectations, I can always just go some place else to gambol! For me the room, as long as it's clean and non-smoking is just a place to sleep and keep my belongings.

I took these along on my last trip. I thought they were really good.

For me, it's mostly about staying somewhere I like to gamble, as I'm typically on a comp and try to gamble mostly where I'm comped.
Cosmo was great last time, and I'm staying there again in September. A kitchen AND a balcony. It doesn't get much better than that. And I did enjoy the casino.

To be honest, all I care about is offers - where can I stay the longest and get the most comps. I've been to Vegas enough times and seen enough there that I don't wander around much except to go to a show most night (and that's easy enough these days with Uber etc.).

A view is pretty important to me, so if I'm spending my own money for a room, I'll spend more for a view. Cosmo terrace rooms are ideal, but pricey. I don't play high enough to get offers so gotta dig deep sometimes.

I'm a sound sleeper so club or elevator noise isn't a problem. Old cigarette smells are pretty off-putting though, can't really truck with those. And if I'm planning on using the pool, the clientele is important. Don't really want to go to a giant frat party while at the pool.

I like a nice pool. I like to spend a couple hours each day at the pool, but I like to relax and don't like the loud party scene. I also like a more upscale hotel. Last few trips have been Bellagio or Aria. Aria again in October. Love the beds, bathroom, pools, location. I don't usually get more than one night comp'd, but do get discounted rates. I'm a low roller, but try to spend most of my gambling money where I stay, which I think helps keep the offers coming.

    (1) Comp. I generally don't go unless it's free or damned close
    (2) Location. Say what you will about CET, but their stuff is dead center (except Rio)
    (3) High floor/far away from the elevator. I don't like street noise or hallway noise. When it's time to sleep, I don't want the elevator dinging and people slamming doors all around me.

    Matters most to me:
Totally Comp'd, Clean, Non smoking, Comfortable bed, Walk-in shower, nice bathroom, the Casino is really important, View (mountain view is ok). Did I mention Clean? Prefer strip but GVR or Red Rock would be ok too.

Don't care about: pool, clubs, bars.

Like many....to me - I want my Free room to have a great central location. Since Bally's opened the Jubilee rooms, always stay there with a fountain view. Before that - FREE Red rooms at Paris. Ok - we do not need a 5 star hotel or room....as long as it is comfy & clean.....we are there. :)

A room with a DOOR between the living room and bedroom. We have different sleep schedules and this is very important.

Hosts/hotels that try to pawn off large rooms and call them suites should be shot!

For us, it's 3 or so hours on the road, so I feel for you dealing with a 2 day drive.

Once there....This is exactly what we do!!! One of the greatest feelings is to know you've arrived in
Vegas and the whole trip is ahead of you with all the fun and possibilities just waiting to be experienced! :woot:

    In this order:
    1. Cost - I get comped rooms so it would take quite a bit for me to pay for a room
    2. Location - I have my favorite places to play, and I want to be within walking distance; I would rather pay a little for a room than have to pay for transportation
    3. View - I would never pay for this
The only way cost would go out the window is when I am with someone special. Then 2 and 3 becomes 1 and 1.

And Harrah's is a pretty short walk away(from Palazzo) compared to most Vegas strolls. Good luck on your trip. I hope you enjoy Palazzo!

I get the rooms at PH that are at the end of the hallway in one of two parts of the building that juts out toward the strip. They don't go as high as the main part of the building, but those rooms are the Vista rooms and Panorama Suites. I don't get the Suite, but I have a friend who always gets them, and they are nice. They have a complete semi-circle of windows out to the Strip. I get the Vista room which has half of the windows that the Suite has, but it still has a nice view of the Strip. But again they are at the end of the hall where you would basically make a U-turn into that hall from the elevator foyer.

    1. Comped is nice.
    2. Good bed, sheets, and pillows.
    3. Higher floor. Doesn't always have to be with a view of the Strip.
