When Boyd Gaming announced the acquisitions of Aliante and Cannery in April, they forecast a close date in the third quarter of 2016. Their third quarter will end on September 30, 2016. Is there any evidence that these properties will be brought under the BConnected umbrella any time before the end of September?

I've not seen anything on this recently, but history has shown it sometimes takes 6 months to over a year before a players club system is changed after a buyout is completed. I doubt there will be much movement on changing the players clubs over until after the first of the year.

No. Because these are casinos, they probably can't even start prepping the conversion until the Gaming Commission approves the sale.

The close date is the official date of the ownership change.
The real changes in the casino will happen 6 to 24 months after that.

That's the Diamond Jo Right? I won't be back there, very limited VP, tight slots and without Bconnected no reason to gamble there. BJ was ok but I had a bad run and lost my buy in quickly.

I was wondering about the interim period before the transaction closes. Once an acquisition is announced, it seems the current owner would have little incentive to maintain or promote the property. But I haven't noticed any drop-off in promotional activity at either Aliante or the Canaries. They're continuing to offer the usual Saturday night drawings and other giveaways.

I noticed the Palms (being acquired by Stations) sent me a surprisingly lousy mailer for July, but I receive a lot of insulting mailers, so probably just a coincidence :blah:

As mentioned before, this has to clear the gaming commission. I don't recall if it has to clear every state Boyd does business in since the casinos are only in NV but there is red tape to clear. The acquistions should sale through but correct course of business is basically business as usual until it's more clear the sale would be approved. There is no incentive to do infrastructure work but you do need to keep cash coming in.

Aliante pit boss told me in September Boyd will have control. Past history says that you will not notice changes for up to a year from now.
esp using the B connect card. that will take time to change machine and group old clients with current boyds clients
BTW Most employees I talked to were cautious with the coming changes. They were happy with present management. I also thought they seemed to be on right track and hope Boyd continues it.

Aliante changed their Player Cards and you have to get new ones for them to work in the machines. But they are not Boyd cards, they are still Aliante cards. I asked at the pit if I needed a new card before I sat down; they said no but the pit boss later handed me a new card that he had run off for me. The card slots on the machines now say "B" on them..
