Howdy folks, my quarterly trip to Vegas is coming up in 2 days!!!
I usually christen my trip downtown at the 777 at MSS. Love the cheap fresh beer and food is great for the price (especially if you just came from the Strip. Yikes).
I'm thinking of trying something new for night #2. I know I'm just going to end up sitting at VP all night and not eating a bite, but I was wondering what the favorites are here. I'm leaning towards Le Thai, La Comida, or the spot outside of Bangers. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    1) Hugo's Cellar
    2) Binion's Steakhouse
    3) Oscar's

I'm getting in late tomorrow, and it would be a rush to make either Vic and Anthony's, or Andiamo which both stay open until 11PM. So I'm going to try to Pop Up Pizza and see what that's all about.

FWIW, I won't likely do a live in trip report, but I will do a pretty extensive review of my room, gambling and dealers, and the restaurants mentioned above. Maybe whatever else I find myself involved in this weekend.

A bit of a hijack, sorry.

We like the Grill in the D. The food has been good every visit. Prices are reasonable. It's not pretentious. The staff are helpful & friendly
For a lighter meal The Chicago Bar in the 4Q has an amazing selection of beers, the Pizzas are never greasy & it's cheap!

Dinner - Andiamo's at the D (however, I will be eating at Hugo's Grill sometime soon
Breakfast and Lunch - Magnolia's at QQQQ, or 777 at Main Street

Disclaimer - I don't pay for meals at either of those places (i.e. comps)

I always eat at Pizza Rock and Dupar's when I stay downtown. I've also really enjoyed Vic & Anthony's (their 3 course $50 pp menu available on their website is a great deal). I try and hit a new place or two each trip and have my sights on Andiamo and eat. for this next trip.

Going with my gf (her first time) and my millionth but never ever really eat downtown. However, staying downtown (would prefer to eat on Fremont or a surrounding casino) this time the first night only and was thinking Pizza Rock as it fits in my budget, the menu looks awesome, and we FN love pizza. What have some of you ordered that have left you wanting more?

We also love love love chicken wings so if you can recommend a place and flavor there that be helpful.

Not really a "restaurant" per se but I liked the Cal club café that was near the binions/lvc entrance to the Cal. I would always eat there at least once and probably a lot more. The prices were reasonable, service was fast, no long lines like you see at the Market St. Café and the food was good. You could also take your meal back to your room at no charge.

Unfortunately Boyd and the Cal decided to remove the café and even though they supposedly are serving some items at some of the boyd restaurants you have to endure the lines to get in or pay extra to take out.

Can't get Thai at home so we hit that Thai place every time. Great food and service and the price is right.

EAT for bkfst & lunch , Glutton for brunch or dinner, Redwood for special occasions, Triple George for consistently good steaks and roast beef. More good restaurants in a small area than on the strip!

Pop Up Pizza at the Plaza is, IMHO, the best pizza downtown. I've had 'em all, and Pop Up is my go-to. I like a Binion burger, especially with 2fer1 coupon. But Flippin' Good looks flippin good.

We enjoyed The Groto inside the Golden Nugget. Went there a few times and were quite happy with the food, and enjoyed their cocktails as well. Don't stay downtown every trip and really haven't found a go to spot for food there yet
