Excalibur, my very first Vegas trip. I like the way it feels when you come in from the people movers, you just kinda 'arrive' in the casino.
Are all three couples going to Zuminity?
    Have a winning trip!

Up and down at the blackjack tables. Up 40. Drink service sucks.

Some of the best drink service I've ever gotten was at the Lobby Bar at Excal. Bartender was Monty, older, slim, white guy. He notices the tip jar.
VP pay tables are crap, but if you want to get a good buzz started you'll be in the right place.

    Recap of day one
Booked room under Royal Caribbean offer and had to ask/complain about my 40 resort credit. They had to make a bizzillion phone calls to get it straightened out. I have no clue why it wasn't automatically added.

Ate dinner at the buffet. It wasn't very good. The honey walnut shrimp and Sriracha wonton were good though. Spent the extra 10 on unlimited beer. Well worth it. I had 6 pints and my wife filled up a soda cup with wine before we left. Cool bartender named Jimmy let us take the to go cups.

Like I said before bj was up and down. I was up about 150 and got greedy and lost half of it on two hands. I find if I stick to a basic betting strategy I usually come out ahead. Up 27 after last night's expenses. Doing well. I had some weird dealer named Louis who wouldn't reveal some of the cards until the end for drama purposes. I found it very annoying. Played a cool video bj game and cashed out quick after a quick 40 profit.

Hit the hay at 0300 and up at 0700. I am cursed! I just with I could sleep a few more hours. It's going to be hard to stay out that late again on very little sleep.
I will try to be more photo heavy on the next update.

Are the trouble with Mlife having to do with their computer system upgrades? Too bad they aren't able to quickly resolve it for you. I hate having to spend valuable vacation time on stuff like that.

    Enjoy!

What is it about Vegas that makes it impossible to sleep even when exhausted?!

I'll give a step by step account of the trip tomorrow during down time at work. I didn't take that many pictures. These are the best I have. Stay tuned.

You're not alone in the MLife circus. Both the website and the app have been disasters over the last month. We're still Platinum (used to be Noir but they took it away), but we'll lose it this year because we've pretty much abandoned them. I'd thought about going back for a trip for old times sake, but our inability to do anything with our account, comps or offers reminded me in part why we left. The Platinum card didn't help a bit, either. And, "mailbox full" wasn't my idea of good customer service. Spent six figure amounts with them over the MLife years but didn't feel we got all that much back. High management turnover made it hard to maintain relationships. No whining-it's just that we feel your pain.

Used to love hitting Excalibur for a drive by of Krispy Kreme! Thanks for the report.

It's a problem with Tapatalk. I've sent several support tickets, but they aren't replying to them.

Day 2 : I played some BJ here and there until the group was ready to head out on to the strip. I am always the first one up and ready to start the day so having to wait on other people to get moving is irritating to me. Everyone is finally ready to go and one of the group members says we are going to Hash House A Go Go in the Linq. I am cool with that decision since I considered staying at the Linq and wanted to check it out, also heard good things about HH.

Walking the strip is one thing I can pretty much do without the rest of my life. Going from Excalibur to the Linq is a hike and on the south end of the strip everything is too spread out.
We made a few pit stops for tall boys at some of the various places that sell beer.

Stopped at the Cromwell for a few minutes and really thought it was a cool place. I like how upscale it felt in there. The casino is basically one long rectangle, it made the casino easy to navigate.
Walked through Flamingo on the way to the Linq. I don't know why but I am drawn to those CET properties at that part of the strip. Bally's, Harrah's, Flamingo, The Linq, CP right accross the street. I guess its because they are all right next to eachother and its easy to hop from one to the other.

Finally arrive at HH and its an hour wait at around 12:30. I am hangry at this point. If I have 4 hours of sleep after staying up untill 0300 and drinking all night I will need to eat soon after I wake up. But no, we wait all this time to eat and even started drinking again.... HH seems as if they want you to stay at a table for 2 hours. Service is was extremely slow. It would take 10 to 15 minutes after I orded a beer to get it. Food finally arrives I ordered a burger for some reason. It was okay and it cured my hangryness. I tasted some of L's chicken and waffles and quickly realized I had made a mistake ordering a burger. It was awsome! Bacon cooked in to the waffle, wow! Everyone agrees we should Lynk it back to EX.

Nap time, I sleep for maybe 30 mins. Wake up and realize I need to get my Zumanity tickets. On the way back to the room I can hear the BJ table calling my name. Find an empty seat at a $5 table, which was rare to walk up on an empty chair at the $5 table. Sat in what I call the QB seat ( end of the table, last to recieve cards) and lost maybe 3 hands. I got at least 5 BJs (black jack, not the other kind of bj) got up to $190 after buying in with $40. After winning $30 on my last hand I decided to take the money and run since my luck would run out eventually. I didn't really notice if they had 3 to 2 payouts or if all the tables were 6 to 5, pretty shitty IMO.

Fast forward to Zumanity: Ordered a 32 ounce beer and my wife got a mixed drink for $32. I found out later her drink was suppost to come in a souvenir cup but they had ran out so she got an extra shot. I guess she was satisfied with that and didn't complain. The show had some really good stunts. Some of they stuff they did was amazing. It also had a lot of time filler crap which I thought was boring. If they would cut out 30 mins of the show it would have been better. I remember wishing the damn show would just end. The boobs were a plus though.

Played a little BJ, ate at 9FI. Fish and chips were really good. Irish nachos were also really good.
Used myVegas coupon for BOGO roller coster. Sat in the front car. It was a nice, scary, fast coaster.
Now here is where the rest of night went sideways. I suggested we go casino hopping starting with PH. I forgot how dam far it was even though we made the hike earlier in the day. I have a change of heart and suggest we walk to CVS near the MC and pick up some beer. Group decides my first idea is the best idea. 2 couples walk all the way down to that end of the strip and other coulple who went back to the room to change shoes says they are done for the night. So we walked all the way down just to walk all the way back. Get back to EX and night is over.

    Day 3:
Head to Ellis Island for the 6.99 steak and eggs. Excellent value at that place. Good food, good service, good price. I highly recommend it. Bloody Mary bar while you wait was cool to. Played $20 at the BJ table, lost.

Head over to Luxor for a poker tournament. I played ulta conservative. Won one hand, posted blinds, chased a couple straights and was done. I think I was the 4th or 5th player out. Really annoying how people can buy back in. One guy bought in 4 times! C ended up in 3rd place and took home $150.

Head to the pool at EX. Really crowded, kids everywhere.

Head downtown for dinner and Freemont st.
Ate at Bocho sushi. Cool little place with not much seating. Everyone enjoyed their food. Vegas roll was the best Ive ever had. WTF roll was great, Number 5 roll was okay. I am ready to hit Freemont and do some walking, people watching , casino hopping, beer drinking. We leave Bocho, walk 2 feet and head in to Don't tell Mama (piano bar). I am not happy. Piano bars aren't really my thing. We sit in there for an hour and a half. Finally walk to Freemont and group wants to stop again before we get under the light show. Nope! I kept walking, wasn't about to dance to hip hop in a Denny's. Freemont was packed! Shoulder to shoulder!
My goal was to check out most of those casinos but just walked in to the D and GN. The dancers in the D looked like strung out trailer trash. Ended up chilling at the pool and watching the sharks swim by at GN. Lyft back to EX get a sandwich at Schlotsky's and call it a night.

Next trip will be in Feb 2017. I will eat crab legs and prime rib next time! We will stay at either the Orleans or GN. I will not stay in another MGM resort on the south end of the stip. Too many issues with the Mlife card and walking the strip is overrated. The Orleans offers a shuttle to the heart of the strip near the CET casinos I like and downtown has everything you need right out the front door of every hotel.

Sounds like you had a good trip, groups (even two couples) can get complicated.
