Golden Nugget Gold Tower vs. Rush

Is there a big difference between the Gold Tower Deluxe and Rush Tower Deluxe? Pros/Cons of both? I currently have the D Suite booked, but got an email offer from GN for a pretty solid deal which I'm considering booking instead (just staying 1 night downtown at the beginning of our trip). Would ideally like 2 double beds and was told that Rush tower has a few per floor that they can't guarantee until check in... with that in mind, I am leaning towards the Gold Tower, unless the Rush tower is that much better?

So just plugged in a random night (12 Sept) and here are the rates for the rooms with double beds:

Carson normal double: $99
Carson "refreshed" double: $119
Gold double: $129
Gold Rush Club: $179

The Gold Rush Club rooms are to my knowledge the only ones in the Rush Tower that have the two double bed option. I believe that the GRC also has the $25 resort fee waived, meaning that the price difference between it and the Gold double is actually only $25 per night. And a decent perk with the GRC rooms is that you get access to the steam room and jacuzzi in the spa/workout area of the Spa Tower (guests of other rooms just get access to the cardio and weights).

I think all of the Nugget rooms are fine, with the difference between the Rush rooms and the Carson/Gold Towerrooms being that the Rush ones have more spacious bathrooms. The relatively small bathrooms in the Carson and Gold Tower rooms are my only complaint. And I would think that the "refreshed" Carson rooms are going to be pretty much identical to the Gold Tower rooms, with the only difference being that the Gold Rooms are closer to the casino and Fremont St.

 

Rush rooms are more recently renovated & a bit more convenient to the casino floor.
But Gold rooms are fine.
Actually in November we were in a Gold room & the rest of the party was in Rush Tower & they had Fremont Street noise issues. We only did one early evening when there was fight back in the area behind D. So late checkin could also get you those rooms overlooking Fremone:-(

 

Thanks for the info. With the email offer I received I ended up booking the Gold double for $96 before taxes and fees (staying on Sept 28th). When I called, they said it was an extra $30 before tax if I wanted the double in the rush tower, plus it wasn't guaranteed to even be an option when I get there.. so went with the gold.
