Hub and i just returned from Vegas, having stayed at Caesars in the Laurel Collection. We are frequent visitors to Vegas and usually stay at Harrahs or South Point (nothing fancy)

I decided to take a solo trip in November and i've reserved 3 nights at the Wynn. It comes with buffet tickets and tickets to see Showstoppers.

Since this forum gave me some awesome tips about the Laurel Collection, I was hoping that you could give me tips etc on the Wynn. For instance, since i'm a self parker, is there another way to park without entering from LV Blvd? What part of the hotel is the best to avoid noise. Buffet tips etc.

Any info would be great. i truly appreciate it!

AFAIK, you have to enter Wynn from LVB to self-park. Easiest way is to access the property from Fashion Show Dr. The Encore side is the one that gets noisy due to the Beach Club. Face away from that and you'll be fine. Make sure to dine at Sinatra at least one night.

Have dinner at SW, late enough to enjoy the dinner show.

Its an excellent hotel. As for parking, I do not know of another entrance, I have always used LV Blvd. But there is a traffic light there, so its not so bad.

I don't really know what you mean by "buffet tips". Its very good food. Every restaurant at the property, including the buffet, has vegan options.

The best bar on the property is Parasol Up. If Rick is bartending, have him make you a Manhattan. Superb! The best breakfast used to be Society Café, but they closed it last year. Instead, try Jardin or Terrace Point.

If you take the 15 North to get to Las Vegas like I do, I usually get off Flamingo Road, gas up at the Chevron near the Palms, take Arville Street to Spring Mountain Road, turn on to Las Vegas Boulevard, then get into the self-parking lot.

As mentioned above, you do not want to face the Encore if you want to avoid noise. Try getting a higher floor on the side of the Wynn facing the golf course, the more south, the better.

I'm guessing your free buffets tickets are for breakfast, lunch, or brunch, as they normally are, so you may want to verify whether they are just to make sure. If they're redeemable for any meal, then you'll want to eat the "Gourmet Dinner" if you're going to be there on a Friday or Saturday, since it offers a better selection of food than normal.

I'm going to assume you have money to blow since you're staying at the Wynn, so I would recommend getting teppanyaki at Mizumi, dinner at SW Steakhouse (make a reservation for 7:30 or 8:00 PM), and lunch any day between Monday and Thursday at the Country Club (assuming they haven't started tearing down the golf course by then). However, if you don't feel like spending too much money on food, there's the Fashion Show Mall food court next door, and Peppermill not too far from the Encore.

I won't, can't, disagree with any advice here. I love SW and recommend eating outside. If you don't, then make sure you have a drink outside at Parasol Down. It's very relaxing, heaven on earth.

Wynn's parking garage is THE easiest on the Strip. You don't need to worry about it.

    We love Wynn:
    1. Courteous front desk staff, easy and quick check-in
    2. Hotel rooms are clean- comfortable bed, stylish decor, quality toiletries
    3. Dining - I am not a buffet person but I would recommend their buffet - food was delicious and service was great !
    4. Gaming - floor is clean and well maintained. I love the bright colors. My favorite machines - Windfall and Megabucks. There is a triple star megabucks on the extreme right if you stand facing the hotel -nice payouts. Sunday LTR minimum was $10 which works for me.
    5. Easy access to Fashion mall - just across the road - take the escalators straight to the food court. Option of Maggianos and several eateries in the food court.
    6. Overall 5 star experience.
    7. Good luck and have fun!

I love the Wynn/Encore but hate playing there:

1)The Wynn buffet is excellent, but you should see what you can do to get a line pass. They usually have a promotion for new slot players.
    2)Rooms are spacious
3)All of the restaurants I've eaten at were excellent
4)I've found the slots to be "really tight"

You will have an excellent time.

I stayed at the Wynn back in 2008. I remember the bed being super super comfortable!
So much so I asked around after the trip, and someone mentioned something or the other that the Wynn went out of their way to purchase the best mattresses available at that time for their rooms.
Anyone know if this is true or any facts about this?

I'm planning on going in November too. May I ask how you much you paid for the 3 nights?

New member Red Card gets you:
    1. Free spin on the electronic screen - usually lands on $10 freeplay but you could win big.
    2. After earning certain number of points (I think 200 points) you get free buffet.
    3. I played for while - maybe longer in my stupor and got 3 nights free offer in mail - so I returned to Wynn.
    4. Next visit got a free upgrade to an Encore suite.
    5. The cycle hasn't stopped since :rolleyes2:

We think Sinatra is the best restaurant in Las Vegas. Take your wallet filled to the brim. You won't be sorry.

Reservations are a must for all of the premium restaurants at Wynn or Encore. Generally, make a reservation for any restaurant that takes reservations. We think both the fine and casual dining choices at Wynn and Encore are the best in Las Vegas-we don't feel the need to leave the property to eat superbly, whether casual or fancy.

Being a Wynn Insider and Red Card member pays nicely for Wynn or Encore guests, even if your trip is a one off. We spend about 21 nights a year at Wynn and we literally save thousands. Besides the savings, you'll find that Wynn staff members have remarkable memories and they often recognize repeat guests-the service you'll get is amazing.

Wynn and Encore are not inexpensive, but they're the best in the city-we're always amazed when travelers to any destination pick the absolute best, most luxurious hotel at that place and then complain that it costs a lot. Pick the best hotel in any other major United States city (or international) and you'll spend more than you will at Wynn. We think Wynn/Encore and Las Vegas as a destination city are bargains.

We are not high rollers, but we are luxury property travelers. Wynn is not as good as MGM or Caesars at rewarding higher spending hotel guests who don't gamble a lot, but Wynn is getting better every year and is now close to being competitive. We're Platinum MLife. At an MGM or Caesars property, we think you pretty much have to be a VIP guest to have a satisfactory experience nowadays. They need to shower you with perks or you'll be caught in endless queues and mob scenes, with crummy rooms, mediocre service and just ok food. At Wynn, all you really need to know is "please" and "thank-you" to have a "VIP experience." The perks are an immaculate property, beautiful rooms, terrific restaurants and a staff which cares that you are there. Good stuff.

I should have added that we have a friend who is an occasional solo trip fan. He speaks highly of the solo dining experience at Wynn and Encore fine dining establishments-great food, great service, plenty to watch and savor. He loves the whole experience. Treat yourself to SW, Lakeside or Sinatra, depending on your taste, and don't be shy about going alone. They'll take great care of you and you'll have a memorable evening. If you want fast casual by yourself, Zoozacrackers is tough to beat, and you can get a casino walkway side booth and people watch-always interesting.

If I were alone I'd definitely make stops at the Wynn buffet, Zoozacrackers, Wazuzu and Sinatra (breakfast every morning at Tableau-the pastry basket alone is attraction enough). You really can't make a bad choice at Wynn/Encore.

I like the Jazz Brunch. Nice restaurant, friendly staff, small Buffet - but soooo goooood :) and the music was so good, too.
