I know we have a sticky on how comps work, and what you have to do to get them. But I've seen enough questions posted from people asking how to get a freebies if they have never been to Vegas before.

So I wrote up something on my blog.If anyone has any other angles to add, I would love to hear them!

Most people on these boards are degenerate gamblers already. But a lot of newbies make their way here looking for advice and I think this might help someone.

The full article is at the link in my signature:

PS, if anyone did need to use a comp service Craig from URComped actually posts on these boards. User name @shacktown. I'm sure he can answer any questions if you shoot him a PM.

PSS, there are many hosts that post on here as well. If anyone needed to forward an offer thats a great way to get the ball rolling as well.

    Important note from the blog:
If you have never played anywhere before, you most likely will have to suck it up and pay for the first round.

Also from the blog: Now if you once gambled $20 on a riverboat, UR Comped, a host or even an act of Congress wont help you to get a free room.

"Act of congress" made me LOL. Thanks for the shout out, Grid!

By the way, the posters site has lots of reviews and trip reports. Worth a visit for Vegas nuts.
