Does anyone know if you can check your coin in/losses online through identity? I tried to login to the membership page but it wouldn't accept my info and since i'm canadian, the zip code field was invalid. I have no idea what i ran through the machines and i like that i can check that on m life.

Identity is the worst system for transparency and online info. They got hacked a while back and now there's next to nothing online. You even have to go to an identity desk to find out your tier credits, you can't even see them when playing. Only thing you can see is your identity points, which is the same thing as RCs.

Our online information is not where it needs to be. However, your message about "being hacked" is the first I have ever heard about that.

Upgrading our IT infrastructure and improving what is visible to guests online is a very important piece of our internet goals. My first priority is to get a very simple, clean cut tax info page available to our guests. After that, we hope to improve/create an online booking engine for Identity guests so they can book offers directly online with our website. We are having meetings on this entire subject matter frequently and hope to roll some improvements out out by year end. I wish it was faster, trust me, but things take time.

    Thanks for your comments Kevin.

A few years ago when I was Plat with you guys, we went forever without even being able to see our points online. Maybe over a year?? One of the reasons I gave up then. But, with your aggressive work recently, we are about to give it a try again.

Suggestion: Learn from the foolishness at Mlife. You do not need fancy front end graphics and the like. Just the information. Seems the latest in web interface is to make them fancy, and less functional.

I think you're thinking of the Venetian/Palazzo hack job that happened a couple of years ago.

Seeing tax info online will be OK, even better if you can see the current year coin-in/out table win/loss like MLife and CET for example. Being able to book offers online will be good also, except, at least in my case, the offer cycle currently is pretty short, ie. I can't book an offer 6 months out. Fortunately, I can have a host book me and add the offer code when it becomes effective for my dates.

The online presence eventually needs to display the player's Anniversary Date and break out:
    • Current Identity Points total (this is the only thing that displays on the website now)
    • Current Identity Points eligible for conversion to slot play
    • Tier Credits earned since anniversary date

All 3 numbers can be different at any given time.

Kevin's doing a great job, I hope he'll continue to get support from inside and keep pushing.

Duh...you're right, I mixed it up since there's actually less info available on Identity than Grazie

that actually surprises the shit out of me that's there's no separation of "church and state" at Cosmo (I work in CORPIT for a software company)...if a host is truly involved in the engineering side (and imagine it's all contract and not in house) i must say I'm impressed

I think he (Timspeed) was saying that he was surprised a host had input into the I.T. side of things (Church and state), but Timspeed, he's actually the VP of Slot Operations....and one of Vegas's 40-under-40. http://vegasinc.com/news/2016/mar/21/congratulations-to-the-vegas-inc-2016-40-under-40/

And, as someone on this mentioned earlier, it appears Kevin was hand-picked/recruited, by Cosmo's President and CEO, Bill McBeath, as they worked closely together at a previous 5 star hotel. http://lasvegassun.com/news/2016/jun/26/cosmopolitan-president-bill-mcbeath-big-moves/

He's (Kevin Sweet) definitely got the power to make those influences, what's so incredible is that he
    a) rolls up his sleeves and also does a grassroots approach to marketing, and
    b) is so gracious, with small and big players alike

He is classy, gracious and understated in his approach, but he absolutely has the chops to work in "church and state," as you put it. (Good comparison!)

We were beyond impressed with Kevin, and really impressed he took the time to deal with mid-level players such as ourselves----thank you Kevin!!! After staying, we were also just as impressed with the Cosmo itself, to the point it is absolutely one of our top home bases now...and, for me, the lovliest property on the strip

P.S. for anyone considering The Cosmo...I was hardcore Mlife, and Cosmo's player program trumps Mlife. We returned from our stay at Cosmo, and we had an immediate 4 night stay PLUS a free night with Sterling status, PLUS RC/FP. We plan to hit Identity gold, as that's even more generous---you can get two free nights for a guest, on top of everything else. Mlife has been very generous, but we're loving being able to get more than 3 nights, gorgeous rooms, AND guest rooms with gold!

I appreciate your vote of confidence towards the Cosmo, I've been hearing many good things here to a point where I might want to explore it myself. I had a few questions if you do not mind responding to.

I remember in the past, the old Mlife website did a comparison of the casino clubs (Grazie, Total Rewards, Wynn Red, Identity), how it was more superior than others. The new Mlife website does not compare themselves anymore. I would have to say the new Identity Rewards looks much more appealing now.

I was wondering if you earn your status through playing slots. If so, do you think based on gut feeling if the slots at the Cosmo are tighter or looser than MGM Properties? I avoid the penny slots due to their low payout across Vegas.

The Identity Rewards website compares other casino rewards, the cashback is where it shines over Mlife. I did a quick estimate of what it takes to enter each tier.

Sapphire starts with 0.67% rewards ($3 coin in per 10 tier points)

$300 coin in of slots give $1 in EXPRESSplay and $1 in EXPRESScomp
    $2 rewards / $300 = 0.67% rewards

$7500 coin in on slots get you in Pearl in Mlife (0.73% rewards = +10% Bonus)
$22500 coin in on slots gets you in Gold in Mlife (0.8% rewards = +20% Bonus)
$60000 coin in on slots gets you in Platinum in Mlife (0.87% rewards = +30% Bonus)
?????? coin in. I do not know what it takes to gets you in NOIR status in Mlife (0.93% rewards = +40% Bonus)

Silver starts with 0.40% rewards ($2.50 coin in per tier point)

$250 coin in of slots give $1 in reward value = 0.40% rewards

$10000 coin in on slots gets you Sterling in Identity (0.8% rewards = 2x Points)
$50000 coin in on slots gets you Gold in Identity (0.8% rewards = 2x Points)
$125000 coin in on slots get you Platinum in Identity (1.2% rewards = 3x Points)

What was your status at Mlife? Do you already feel that Sterling on Identity exceeds Platinum on Mlife? It is easier to get into Gold on Identity than it is Platinum on Mlife based on what I see here.

    HI JackAttack,

Many on this board can answer better than I can, as I am not a High Roller, I'm probably your mid-level player... (which would make me a guppie on this board!), but here's my two cents.

    1) Yup, all my points are through slots. I cant answer anything on tables.

    2) My tier status on Mlife is Gold. Have been very close to Platinum each trip (and will probably finally hit it this trip), but the jump from gold to Platinum just didn't really make enough of a difference for me to aggressively pursue it. (Though Mlife platinum DOES give you an annual cruise, we just aren't cruisers.)

    3) Loose or tight slots at Cosmo. I just don't feel comfortable answering this, as it can depend on the games you play, your luck on a trip, you name it. I don't like guiding others on this, since each person can have such a different experience. Others might have more feedback.

    4) Tier progression ease. They're probably pretty close. Mlife you have more properties to earn it at, but for comps, it's still better to focus play versus bounce around. Cosmo actually might even be a little easier to hit gold than hitting platinum at Mlife, but it's close.

I think the bottom line is, play (and advance) where you want to stay. It doesn't matter how good the reward program is if you don't like the hotel. I'd say give Cosmo a spin and see if you like it. They're pretty responsive on giving generous teaser offers. What's won me over is their attentiveness to guests, at least in our experience. This is huge for me. I want to stay someplace that values me, even if I am a VMB guppie (vs. whale), and Cosmo absolutely hit this for us. In fairness, we also have a an Mlife homebase we love...lucky to have two. :D

For us, we love Cosmo, which is why I want to advance there. If I didn't, I wouldn't bother, no matter how good the rewards program is!

Good luck, and I hope that helps.

Thank you so much for the responses, even more so since I feel they are genuinely honest opinions.

I completely understand the feeling about being a guppie and a whale here, I do not expect anyone to be a whale here and sorry if that brought any unnecessary pressure with regards to casino status. It is just my personal belief that it is not financially worth being a whale at a casino, the money that is generally lost pales in comparison to the value of the comps received. I've only been Gold once at MLife and Pearl for the other 4 years at Mlife, so I am more of a plankton. I only go to Vegas two or three times a year, I do most of my gambling action at the local tribal casinos in California. I just think it requires an annual six figure income to hang in the High Limit Rooms in casinos, based on my 20 years of gambling experiences.

I was vague on the slot part. From past experiences, the nicer the casino the tighter the slot (the Wynn/Aria/V+P are downright awful). The Cosmo is one of the nicer places in Vegas, and I would originally expect their slots to be tight. I was carrying false hope by wanting to hear that the slots will not be as tight as those high end places, but that would be wishful thinking. Although the penny slots are fun to me, the old fashioned dollar reel slots are looser on the Gaming Reports at the American Casino Guide.

It seems to be manageable for myself to get to Sterling level on Identity Rewards at 4000 tier points, I think I will estimate losing about $1000 (I can mentally handle losing more than that). I read table games are separate so I will substitute video poker for it. If that got you a future offer of 4 nights it will be worth it. I agree with your prerogative about playing where you want to stay. I hope I will like it myself.

Thanks again, I appreciate your insight.

This is the only complaint I have. With a 5 hour flight as part of my planning I need to book my Vegas trips more than 2 months in advance which is what it seems like the offers are good for. I much prefer to have all my hotel reservations set BEFORE I book my flights. Lucky for you to have a host that can help.

Hi Jack, you didn't make me uncomfortable at all! I just want to be open that I am not an expert, whale, or even baby whale, as others on this board definitely are.

On slots/tightness, I totally get where you're coming from. I used to think the high-end hotels would comp less/have tighter slots. I started in mid-tier hotels because I'm actually pretty frugal. (Frugal, not cheap.)

Ironically, some of the 5 star hotels have been consistently MUCH more generous to me than mid-tier hotel, to the point I've actually cut out my mid-tier hotels due to tighter play and lower comps. The 5 star hotels I like/stay at, flat have consistently treated me better/give me more than my previous mid-tier haunts---for the same play (or even slightly less at times!). Its still really weird to me, but instead of asking "why," I've just learned to enjoy it as long as it lasts, and I like to be loyal to the places that are good to me.

Finally, remember on "tight slots", it ABSOLUTELY depends on what you play. I'm not just talking slots vs. vp versus tables, but the specific slot GAMES you play. Each casino sets their machines differently. I LOVE "Quick Hits Free Game Fever", but I've found some hotels seem to set them tighter than others. For instance, at Aria, there is a row that always does decent for me every trip. Bellagio also has some good/loose QHFGF (by the night club---forget it's name). At MC, I haven't found one bank of QHFGF that I do well by, and this is in multiple trips. I flat go for other games when at MC. (Midnight Diamonds is a really good one at MC). A hotel can be tight for one person, but great for another.

Again though, just play around and see which hotel works for you. There is no right or wrong hotel, it's where you're the happiest that counts. Good luck, and enjoy!
