Headed to LV in August. I have Mlife Gold so parking is covered for my wife and myself. Member of our party is looking at buying a Platinum card on eBay that is valid. I told him that he can access lounges at certain properties with platinum. He mainly wants it for parking/valet/lounges/line jumping. I would give him a spare that I have but gold is not welcome in lounges. Will people ask him for ID at buffets, valet, lounges? He's mainly looking at saving $90 in valet fees.

They may, depending on the casino/staff. Remember that this is a revenue generator for mLife.

As I recall, they checked my ID at MGM Grand.

When I was Platinum I was always checked.

Yes they most likely will ask for ID every time it's used.

He got the card. It was $5.00. Told him good luck at valet. They will id. He's scared to use at valet now. He's eyeing the lounges

The mLife lounges don't offer much. At the least the ones that don't really care much who walks in. Mostly just small sodas and snacks.

I'm interested in what lounges you're talking about too.The only one I know about is the one we used when we stayed at the Four Seasons. We've been platinum for years and I never heard about any lounges.

NYNY has one as part of "VIP" checkin. A couple of seats and they have to go to the back to get a drink. Far from being a lounge. Used primarily for checkin.
Mirage has a room next to normal checking for "VIP" checkin. Few seats and mini fridge with beer, soda, etc.
Bellagio has a nicer one. You might sit there a bit, but still nothing like Diamond Lounges at CET.
M-Bay has a check in room as well. I think they have sodas.. not sure. Again, primary use is for checkin.

It is my understanding (based on my one year as mLife Platinum) that mLife doesn't have any Platinum lounges in the model of CETs Diamond/7* lounges. What they do have is at selected casinos, a "premium" check-in area where you can sit while waiting to check in.

OK. I know about those. I was thinking along the lines of the Diamond lounges at CET.

Did the buyer confirm that the seller was the owner of the card before purchasing? I can see someone finding a Platinum card in a machine, and selling it on ebay. I can't imagine any sane person selling their own Platinum card, risking zero trips (any swipe or use of the card at a casino) which would impact their casino offers, and possibly use of their comp dollars in their account in the case someone finds a outlet that doen't ask for ID (there is always someone that doesn't follow the rules).

Would anyone here sell their Platinum or Diamond, etc card on ebay for $5?

I'm dying to see how this turns out. I can't think of a single reason to buy someone else's platinum card on ebay but maybe I'm wrong...

Really hoping to see an update to this once the trip happens. Not that I'd do it, but I'm very interested to see if this actually works out.

I'm dying to see how this turns out for him. My father in law is 7 stars at CET and uses the lounges to wind down after gaming. This is what caught my brother in law's eye and the eventual purchase of platinum card. My guess is that card was blank and seller got a name and date printed on it.

What is the punishment if you get caught impersonating an MLife Platinum person?

I can see people wanting to get it for line pass, and miss understood other perks.

As to someone selling their OWN card... that would be stupid. Unless they were done with Vegas and moving on in life.
