    My Trip Report

Starting the countdown: 5 days until wife and I head out to LV for our annual July 4th long weekend trip. This time, we're switching it up a bit and staying at RedRock for all three nights. Trying to avoid the strip entirely. I have nothing against the strip (I avoid 6:5 blackjack), but just felt like switching it up. Can we make it three nights without leaving RedRock? Time will tell...

I should add, it's been seven months since I've tried my last trip report. The last one hit the dust after a health scare, and I apologize to the VMB community for having you tune in, and then drop the updates. I'm happy to report I'm healthy these days (well, cholesterol notwithstanding), which is all that really matters. For anyone who tuned into my first TR, I promise to complete this one.

Plans so far: Dinner at Hearthstone, social hour at T-Bone, lots of craps, Mississippi Stud, Pai Gow, and BJ. I'll also get in some pool time, and wife will make me try Bingo. How bad can it be?

Love Red Rock! I would love to stay off the strip one time. Can't wait to read about it!

Damn, down a quick $2600 after drunk playing $100 antes at Missisippi stud. Pai gow was good to me, then donated it back and then some. Need a comeback to get me through the long weekend

Damn, bankroll is elapsed. Cutting myself off at $7k loss. Having a great time overall though. Full TR coming tomorrow night. I couldn't pick a side for the life of me. Worst was dark side at craps table, playing DC bar as well. Saw the All numbers bet pay off three times in a few hours.

Is it fair to see what my host can do for backend comps at that loss level? Running about $600 in room charges. Not sure what they expect for back end. Thanks

If you lost $7000 and it's DOCUMENTED (On tables, I HIGHLY doubt their numbers are correct) you should have no problem getting 10% ($600 room charges) comped off

Thanks, I'll ask to speak to the host on duty upon checkout. If that doesn't work, I'll escalate to my own host. Not a huge deal since I don't believe I'm entitled to anything, but hey, good back end comps could be a differentiator for a future stay.

This place kicked my ass, but I'd love to devote all my play here. Never a bad experience with the staff, dealers, or restaurants. Like I said, full TR coming soon, but I highly recommend Hearthstone at red rock.

If they don't comp your charges, don't go back, any casino on the strip would.

Really? Maybe I need to be more up front in the future. Last stay at V/P was a winning trip, but theo was roughly equivalent. Asked for backend comps via email to my host and was nicely denied. Is it only when you book a loss?

Depends on the casino. Some places don't care about actual results and focus on theo only, while other places sometimes will comp 10% of actual loss or 30-35% of theo. By the way it sounds, you would need to hope Red Rock considers actual results (I really don't know what they do), it sounds like you didn't achieve $2000 theo by the way you are describing your results.
