If so, how much do you play coin in (over what time period) and what type of comps do you get from where (if any)?

I'm reading very conflicting opinions about whether playing over 100% VP can lead to any comps at all or not.

A true gambler is never exclusive. It would make it too much like a job and gambling is supposed to have an entertainment component to it

I play mostly full pay, but I agree with loonytoony's sentiment about gambling. Occasionally, I will play 10 or 15 minutes of STP, and STP is nearly always short pay in whatever game you choose. It's just fun. Here's an extreme example of your type of player. I have sat next to pros at Palms. Incredibly fast- you can't follow them. That is one reason some places disable the fast play setting on the best games. The pros were not having fun at all, and sort of ruined my vibe as well.

To some extent an answer depends on one's definition of full pay. For me, it starts at 99.54% Jacks, with the possible exception of something like Bonus Poker with a good progressive going. You can get comped for the best games, but policy and comp percentage vary by casino.

    I would agree with this.

And, unless you actually hit the Royal, you are never at full pay anyways. I think I read that the ever elusive Royal contributes close to 2% of that 100%.

It would be appreciated if we could try to answer the question posed rather than branch off on a tangent about whether you agree or not with my desire to only play FPDW.

I would guess part of the conflicting reports are tied to various casinos. Some track theo at a macro level, others may group VP together. And of course, coin in will vary widely.

If you ONLY play those special machines, you won't get anything other than the already reduced points.
I believe that's the case for Station casinos and Boyd casinos. Not sure about others.
After all, comps are based on ADT, and on those special machines, they have no reason to set the theo higher than 0. You may miss the royal in short session, but someone does hit royal once in a while. Long term, those machines don't earn anything for the house.

If you only want to play FPDW and would like to get comps, you could follow my system.

I too only play FPDW and play exclusively on videopoker.com. My parents comp me full RFB in their luxurious basement suite. When the family visits, we paint a little red busker circle on the driveway to keep Crazy Uncle Larry from bothering everyone.

Is that the same Crazy Uncle Larry that dresses up as a monkey and wants bananas for tips? I've seen that guy.

Looks like this site is only free play, and I do not see any FPDW. Appreciate the effort, also I am really only concerned with Vegas locations.

    Take care

That's the one. He was last seen in his red circle on Fremont flirting with middle-aged-almost-naked-lady-with-stars-on-her-nipples. Auntie Tami Ann was glaring at him from her red circle across the street. She'll sell you a bamboo-braided cross if you give her a crisp new five spot.

I read at the other forum that some local players only play full-pay machines and only play during multiple points days.
Some of them got their accounts closed by the casino, and someone was even barred from playing.

Could you direct me to this forum please? I would like to read about this, sounds quite interesting. Everywhere I have played FP VP in vegas there have often been very obvious regulars that know the waitresses by name and even some random floor employees walking by, so this would very much surprise me. Red Rock even had a fella duo-machining FPDW at about 1000 hands per hour on each...it was really impressive quite frankly, like watching a robot. And multiple employees stopped to have a friendly chat with him during his play.

First, the original post did not SPECIFICALLY restrict the discussion to FPDW or even to games with an EV over 100%. Second, tangential issues are part and parcel of posting on a public forum. Live with it.

The forum JeJas was referring to was likely VPFree where there have been a number of discussions of players being banned at a variety of casinos. The most recent instance I could find dates back to May 9th.

"Stopped by South Point today to play the 300 point kiosk swipe promotion. When I inserted my card, I noticed my name didn't display. I tried to enter my PIN and the card reader said my account was locked. At the slot club I was told management had reviewed my account and decided to close it because I played too much on double point days and had won too much money. They said they had no desire to retain customers that are not profitable. I was told I could play there in the future, but only without a slot club card."

Over 99% of our play is 9/6 Jacks or Better. At MSS we average $12-13k per day coin-in. Our last trip was $75k for 5 days of play. We have no problem getting 5 nights comped upfront along with food.

At Sam's Town we are averaging just over $10k per day. I get marketing offers for 5 nights, gold card, and $100FP.

How would you define "Full Pay"?

WOW, my coin in on the strip is NOWHERE near yours, Ty. And since the Strip is my area of choice to stay, I have to settle for lower theo machines. And honestly my first game of choice is Hold Em tourneys, but I will play VP at CET bars between tourneys--yep, worst pay tables, I know. Crazy but I have been playing .25 VP with optimum strategy for about 5 years (but not necessarily optimum paytables) & have hit 3 royals (2 in one night, first I'd ever hit!) & 2-4 As on TDB, so crazy crazy lucky.

And I am comped 5 nights, S-Th at most CET properties (never NOBU or Cromwell) most nights of the year & some weekends.

I have accepted the lower paytables for my vacation experience at this point in life. We stayed & played DT in November (hit another royal at GN sports bartop) & just don't care for the vibe for more than a day.

Strangely, I spent some time seeking out better paytables. Played Palms, MLife--not sure why, but my $ doesn't last at those places.

I DO like Bourbon Lounge at Venetian--I think they might be best bartop paytable on the strip. My $ lasts ALL night there...HOURS. Yet V/P offers nothing.

Not passing any judgement, Ty, just saying as much coin in as you have, I would expect some better comps.

When we retire to Vegas in 6 years we will seek out better paytables at off strip casinos. For now, my "cost" to play lower paytables is for my fun Vegas experience!

Personally, over 100%. I know you can reach over 100% value from machines under 100% with point multipliers and other offers, and that's awesome for people who do it that way, but it's not for me. I just like to gamble away knowing the more I play the greater chance I won't lose, it makes gambling enjoyable for me vs before when it was the opposite, and gambling was not enjoyable for me that way.

Thanks for the info, I don't know if I have ever played at Sams so I'll definitely register a couple days of play there on my next trip and see what happens.

Extra surprising to me that SP would do that, as they do not even have over 100% machines. Thanks for the link to that forum, I knew vpfree had a forum but never checked it out, I will now. What a funky layout though.

I've been watching the MSS comps improve with time, A year ago the coin-in was around $8k per day, I think Boyd looks at the last 12 or 13 months, if so the $8k days are pulling the average down.
