5.8 miles from the airport. Is the taxi driver using a horse and buggy?

I heard that the taxi drivers will drive through Los Angeles to get to the Strip, lol.
But seriously, how is the taxi business still thriving in the era of Uber? Aren't they now sort of outdated?

If you contact uber and complain about that trip, they'll give you a credit for your next ride. I am done with cabs.

I took an Uber from the Plaza to Luxor for 11.93. I was forced to take a cab back. $30.
    Just ridiculous.
Will never take another cab unless I am forced to.

Used Uber last night. She arrived in about 2 minutes. Nice Chrysler 200, leather seats. And she had phone chargers all plugged in ready to use. Iphone and Android. Fantastic. Satellite Radio if there was a particular type of music you wanted. She said most Uber drivers also drive for Lyft. She gets a majority of her pickups from Uber.

Our Uber ride in March from the airport to Sam's was $18.77. The return trip was just a bit more at $19.19. Our drivers were Jesus and Joseph. Talk about a religious experience...

How does this work exactly? Does one need wifi on their phone to order uber/lyft? I want to give this a try next time but i don't have internet on my phone unless i have wifi. Canada cell companies nail us with roaming charges.

You need access to the internet to communicate with the uber system/folks.

Hey there! We used VIP limo share and loved it, but we're staying at the south end, super close, so I really like the price of uber/lyft.

I don't like giving someone my credit card (VIP let's us prepay). Does anyone know if you can use a prepaid credit card for lyft or uber?

We like the idea of uber, I just don't want to haND over a real credit card, and you can't pay cash with uber/lift I don't think.....

As said, the credit card is in the Uber system. Like any company with your credit card, things can happen.

BUT - I see no reason not to give it out.

1 - By law, you are limited to $50 in exposure. In reality, you have zero.

2 - We carry extra credit cards. If one gets hacked, we just pull out another.

3 - Uber is multi billion dollar operation. You can be 99.99999% sure they are taking all the steps to keep their business alive.

You don't give someone your credit card; you enter it on the app, as in any online transaction

Made the mistake of going taxi during my last trip and was hit for about $40 from airport to Planet Hollywood. Meanwhile the reverse begin/end was about 15.

Here in DC taxis are known to be horrendous so I'm very familiar with Uber. I've always thought highly of Vegas cabs; however, that has since changed and all of my future trips will include Uber/Lyft at LEAST when leaving the airport for the strip.
