I know this is a very personal question, but I'd really appreciate some feedback/opinion from the experts :)
Imagine you're taking your fiance to her first trip to Vegas, and you have three hotel options, which one would you choose?

Consider that we're not into gambling (ok, maybe some slots) and we'd like to enjoy shows, restaurants and tourists attractions, and yes, we'll have a rented car since we'll be arriving from San Francisco.

Feel free to simply vote or if you're in the mood, leave your comments below.

    Many thanks in advance!

Im no expert but i vote mgm or caesars. Paris classic rooms from what i k ow are very outdated and i don't like their dining options. Mgm and caesars have a lot to offer in terms of dining and have recently been renovated.

I've stayed at all 3 properties. Caesars would be my first choice. Rooms have just been updated in several towers. The location is prime, just about dead center of all the action on the strip. Their pool area is fantastic. Lots of great eating, drinking, shopping, nightlife and entertainment on site. The place is huge with everything you need.

We have also stayed at all three properties, and would give the edge to Caesars. Best location, best buffet, best rooms IMO, good restaurant choices, great spa and pool, and good atmosphere. We also enjoy walking through their mall.

Not sure which I would pick.

MGM has that big pool area and lots to do in one place along with NYNY and others across the street. Then again, Caesars has a great pool. Not sure if pool is important, and when you are going.

I am not a big fan of Caesars, but it is central and has the mall attached if that helps.

Paris is a great place, but is old. End of hall is nice, especially if a fountain view.

    Where have you stayed before?

Bottom line, a first time visitor will be happy at just about any hotel on the strip.

    sorry, can not choose.

Hi NoStress, not sure about the Pool, we're staying mid October (4 nights). On 2004 I've stayed at the Venetian (really enjoyed it), but this time I'd like something new for both of us :)

    Thanks for your reply.

First choice would be MGM with Caesars a close second.
Both have a lot to offer and are great for first time visitors.
I'm just not a big fan of Caesars choppy floor plan.I think you know what you are getting at MGM Grand.
I cannot speak for the Julius Tower rooms as I have not stayed in that tower.

MGM - I think for a first timer it offers the most "Vegas-y" options. Nothing says Vegas like a huge green hotel.

I've stayed at all three as well, and give the nod to Caesars, although I have not stayed at Paris for 15 years.

Big green hotel is Vegas-y? (sarcasm?) Caesars is quintessential Vegas, imo.
Best location, newest rooms (Julius is most recent reno & they are pretty generous with comped or inexpensive upgrades), best buffet.
MGM & Caesars both have great pools. Both are HUGE properties that will require some trotting to get from your room to the strip.
Is the MGM room West Wing (not sure if your GRAND goes with MGM or the room description)? Then you do NOT want that room. All other MGM rooms are fine. And bigger than Julius Tower at Caesars.
Have stayed at MGM once. I am not a fan of staying on south strip, prefer central even after 65 trips. Hated the LONG walk from the hotel to the strip. Have stayed at Caesars several times. Still love the rooms & pool but I am over the walk to the strip from their rooms too.
One consideration...since you stayed north strip your first visit, you may enjoy south strip for this trip.
And since you stayed at Venetian you are used to long walks! (and you are going to be disappointed in the room!)

I stayed at Caesar's last year the pool looked beautiful but in reality it was very old and not very clean. I didn't enjoy the feel of the casino it was just to large and the walk to our room was very long.
I wont say I didn't enjoy my time there because overall I did but I wont be staying there again. I do how ever enjoy Paris and MGM I think food choices are great at both places and location is also good.

Hi KKB thank you for your detailed comment. When you say that Caesars are very generous on inexpensive upgrades, you think it will be cheaper to ask a last time upgrade at counter rather than booking a better room? We're going on Mid October (18-22), not sure if it's a high peak season.

    Thanks!

As with anything in life, it depends on how much you are willing to spend. What is your nightly budget? That can help provide with better responses in terms of what rooms are available at each property.

Hi Hollywood, I know you can find a lot of options at the Strip, but since this will be our honeymoon trip, i'm willing to spend around U$200-230 per night, which gave me some good options at the Caesars and MGM :)

    Thanks!

I personally like Paris and have stayed there numerous times, but at the parameters you've laid out, there's zero value there. It's a decent property, but definitely a tier below CP and MGM. Given the fact that you're paying basically the same as you would for MGM, plus the fact that you're getting a severely dated "classic room" there, toss out that choice immediately.

I've stayed at CP but never at MGM. They are pretty similar properties....very large, huge casino, good pools, lots of food options, recently renovated rooms. Given the $200+ price difference, I'd probably lean MGM.

The more I think about it, MGM would be my choice.

Not sure if you are into pools, but Oct weather is usually not bad. See forecast/history

I assume you have looked at MONTHLY calendars for various hotels, since rates move up and down considerably from day to day.

Based on the budget, my suggestion would be MGM as Caesars would most likely be be beyond that.

I am assuming that the $230 max is including the nightly resort fee and tax which probably adds an extra $70 per night so you're looking at close to $160 per night.
If the fees are not included then you are looking at something closer to $300 per night.

A believe that a $300 per night room at MGM including taxes/resort fees would be about $450 per night at Ceasars including taxes/ resort fees.

We have stayed several times at all 3 properties. The pools are CP and MGM are both fabulous but kinda like MGMs lazy river to relax in. We love both places and usually stay where we can get the better deal and depends on where our traveling friends are staying. I like the food options at CP better than the others also. Location ..I give the nod to CP. If the pools are no issue I would stay at CP. Paris is ok but would be a distant third on the list. We have reservations at both properties for oct..haven't decided yet which one we are staying at yet....love to have that worry..lol...good luck and have fun.
