Is TapaTalk required to post pictures? (and other general questions)

Not a fan of live trip reports but they seem to be a BIG hit on the board.
So, why not give what the people want and do a live trip report during my Sept trip.

I would plan to use my Phone to take all pictures and update the thread.

For those who have done the live trip report and photos with their phone, is TapTalk required?
I have read a number of issues/concerns with installing it and would rather not have it installed.

Do you upload the photo directly to this board or to a host server first then provide a link?

What about video?

 

You can bring the board up in your phone's web browser and upload pics and videos pretty easy without having to install TapaTalk. Thought uploading video from your phone could eat up a lot of your phone's data

 

Thanks for the feedback here's my first reply via my phone along with a picture as a test of a little pet in my backyard.

 

I see the image becomes a thumbnail.
How are people getting the image embedded in a reply full size from the phone?

Is that a picture on your phone or hosted remotely?

I used the "Upload a file" option.

 

I posted that picture using TapaTalk directly from my phone. I don't know how to post an embedded picture from the actual website.

The one in the foreground is a Crepe Myrtle. The two taller ones are gums. I don't know what the one in the middle is, but it gets really yellow in the fall. Some huge pines in the far background.
