    My Trip Report

Welcome back to another Trip Report as Wade and I (Earl) guide you through our adventure to the Promised Land for a week. Here is the scoop on this trip. We are two simple minded southern folk that teach high school and coach football in our late 20's/early 30's. My wife and her entire family are coming Friday 7/1 and leaving Tuesday 7/5. She has 5 siblings, one brother in-law, and two likely soon to be brothers in-law. One brother turned 21 on Memorial Day, and the whole family is coming to celebrate his 21st birthday and life in general.

The characters (heroes) on the trip include: Earl, Wade, Maurice, Gunther, Fievel, Uncle Hepatitis, my wife and her three sisters, my wife's parents, and Chet Steadman-the birthday boy (yes these are all Vegas names only). We also have Walter joining us for the first 5 days. Other than Wade, Walter, and I, this is everybody's first or second trip to Las Vegas. This will be my 10th trip and Wade's 5th trip.

    Here is the plan:

Wednesday: Wade and I flying SW out of ATL at 8:00 ET, landing at 9:10 PT. Walter is flying out of GSP and lands shortly after. Rental car through Advantage for $50 for the day. We are making a super duper frugal coupon run for the entire day. Here is the route we are taking, while making the fastest stop at each casino to burn through coupons from either the ACG or LVA. South Point, Gold Coast to drop off our bags, In n Out for lunch, Orleans, Hooters, Hard Rock, Sam's Town, Longhorn, Mardi Gras, Westgate, Circus Circus, SLS, Bighorn, Lucky Club, Silver Nugget, Jerry's Nugget. We finally get downtown to Fremont Street, and drop the car off in the MSS garage. From there we will hit nearly every downtown casino for the coupon run. Likely will eat at MSS buffet for dinner.

You may think that is insanity to try and use all of those coupons in one day. It should take us about 10 hours between getting in rental car and finishing dinner. If we get short on time, we may skip a casino or two. We are all on a pretty tight gambling budget. We all have budgeted between $100-200 per day, but who knows if we stick to that game plan. This should give us at least $150 extra. There's nothing worse than starting out being down, so we all agreed this would be worth it to start out ahead in Vegas. Once we get downtown, it's game on to get hammered drunk and make bad decisions, and hopefully make it back to Gold Coast to our room (Walter staying at Hooters).

Thursday: Free day to do whatever. Absolutely nothing planned.

Friday: My wife and her family all arrive by 10:00pm. We are all staying at Flamingo, but Wade and Walter will be staying at Plaza downtown.

Saturday: In the morning going on the dam tour to find some dam bait. Family picture at the LV sign after dinner.

Sunday: Spending the day on Fremont. LOVE Beatles show at Mirage in the evening.

Monday: Celebrating our freedom in America by getting blasted at Flamingo pool. (Walter flies home)

Tuesday: Family flies home, Wade and I spend our final night at Planet Hollywood.

    Wednesday: 6:40pm flight into Atlanta.

Here is what you can expect to see in this TR: PHOTOS of anything we think you would like to see, craps sessions, chip porn, VP hits, multiple trips to Ellis Island, sigma derby at The D, short poker sessions, Baseball the drinking game at O'Shea's, drunken shenanigans, an abundance of pai-gow from Walter, customary competition to see who can take the most pictures with random Asian families, and once again drunken shenanigans.

Suggestions are welcome of things you would like to see happen. We can always expect one good blackout story from Wade...clothes optional kind of blackout.

Sounds like you have an excellent plan, will it come apart at the seams when you get some liquor in your system? We shall see....

Johnny, the only thing that comes apart at the seams when I get some liquor in me is my britches.

Earl (and Wade) -- I was a bit worried about you boys on that last trip disappearing and all. I was fearin' you died in the back cornie of the karaoke room at Ellis. Have a great trip and another epic craps run while downtown!!

You are absolutely correct on that. My goal this time is to actually conclude the trip instead of just falling off the face of the earth.

A little bit of a rough ride but smooth landing though. Got the rental, a white Mitsubishi Outlander.

Hit up South Point, Wade and I got exactly $5 out of our $5 FP, Walter got $6.25. All of us played 8/5 BP. Just picked up LVA and checked into our room at Gold Coast. Going to place bets on Coastal Carolina to win College World Series tonight. Then it's off to In n Out, Orleans, Hooters...

After an awesome lunch, Hooters, Longhorn (wow), Sam's Town, Mardi Gras, Westgate. We are all probably below average on the coupons so far. Wade and Walter aren't doing bad but I'm struggling. Got my first hand pay at Mardi Gras for $10 though!
