This will be a review of the new Plaza pool.
    Here are my thoughts...
Small area with table games (craps and black jack).

The temperature of the water was cold as ice! Perfect for how hot it was.

The outdoor decor reminded me of Palm Springs. I'm from SoCal so that was a plus.
Plenty of lounge chairs, even a few in the pool.
Cabanas with outdoor lounge chairs, indoor seating, refrigerator, and television.
Pool towels are provided like most hotels.

Shower area is a good size.

Small area with seating and a jacuzzi, too hot to try it.

The BBQ was very tasty, I really liked the pulled pork sandwich.

There is a taco truck , didn't have a chance to sample any food.

The cocktail service was quick, the server we had didn't know much about the drinks. Something for them to work on. I ordered a Pina Colada and a Mango Hurricane both blended, very refreshing.
Captain Morgan girls were there passing out drink sample and sunglasses. Wished I knew what I was drinking. It was good though.

New modern looking ladies restroom. Sorry couldn't get a photo of the mens restroom. I'm sure it looks the same but with urnals.

I wish there were more end tables to put drinks on. Other than that, I really enjoyed the vibe, DJ music, and everything the pool area had to offer. I would definitely visit again.

During the early afternoon the crowd was more of a middle aged mix (30's to 50's) and some families. Later in the afternoon a younger group of people were arriving as we were leaving.

Thanks. I'm going solo in about 23 days, and curious what I'm getting into.

Those lounge chairs are just too close in my book.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like a great upgrade to the Plaza, tbh. :)

Noone playing tennis or Pickleball in that heat, I would suspect?

Looked like that area was still under construction. I would not play in that heat. Would be cool if it was an indoor court.

Totally agree.....one of the biggest reasons I am not a fan of the pool at the Nugget. It is not a pretty sight watching a senior citizen (me) getting on and off chairs when there is no space between them.

Great review, and thanks for the pictures. I think we are going to stay there in October for three nights. My wife likes to go to the pool while I gamble, so I think she will be happy with the upgrade.

Did you happen to catch the table minimums/rules in the gaming area?

They have this on their website now... Cheaper option than the GN for people staying somewhere without a pool, although I think I would pick the DTG out of the 3.

Hotel guests and locals with a valid Nevada I.D. receive complimentary admission to the pool.

Non-hotel guests receive admission for $10 per person.
