    Thanks Sam! Will do!

This is a familiar sight for those of us who make the drive into Vegas.

Well we're staying 3 nights at Mandalay Bay and another 2 at MGM Grand. Standard rooms. Nothing exciting, sorry. I'm here this time with my wife and we brought our 3 year old son so mostly eating, pool, shopping and random sightseeing.

We'll do the usual fountains, conservatory, Shark Reef, M&M store, places like that. Very tame stuff. Hopefully some interesting pics though.

    Brunch review to come...

For background, we'rw buffet junkies and have eaten at nearly every one in Vegas - from Bacchanal and Wicked Spoon to the old Sahara one and the Plaza Chinese mess hall. (We never got to try the old Boardwalk travesty buffet unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it.)

Today it was The Palms Bistro for Champage brunch.

Eggs benedict and french toast = meh. A little overcooked. Not terrible, but not great.

Has browns and gravy (skipped the buscuit) = not bad. Gravy looked like vomit but tasted good. Had stong bacon-y flavor. And bacon makes everything taste good.

Crab legs/claws and butter were tasty. Salad = salad. What can you say? Peel & eat shrimp w/cocktail sauce was good. Simple and hard to screw up.

Made to order Mongolian BBQ. If it's screwed up it's probably my fault. I did ok. [emoji6]

Dessert was ok. Cream puff and chocolate thing were subpar. Cookie and rectangle chocolate fudge thing with toasted marshmallows were good.

I did not have champagne but my wife did. She liked it and thought it was fairly sweet, which she likes.

Our server (I think his name tag said "Ele") was very good. Pleasant and very attentive. There was also no wait to get in, so that was nice.

I just got back from Mandalay. The pool is great! Just keep your shoes on. The deck area is hot!

Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon are the worst times.
Just curious, since it's a Sun-Thur trip...did you take advantage of free rooms via MyVegas? (Or other sorts of freebies)

Good to know. We're usually weekday warriors, so it's generally pretty slow.

And yes, the first night (Sunday) is a MyVegas free night. Also got free play and a buffet. The other two nights ($59 a night) also came with a $150 F&B credit.
