Are sure a helluva alot easier than the strip. I know that is a "No Duh" statement but here's my 2 cents.

I've been staying in Mlife property usually twice a year for a minimum of 5 nights per stay for last 6-7 years. I'm a low roller but spend enough gambling, eating, hotel, etc. in my opinion to earn at least a couple free nights. All i've ever gotten was discounted rooms & maybe a food credit attached to an offer. Yeah, I know boo hoo for me.

For my annual March Madness trip i stayed at MSS this year for 6 nights. I was with a group that was a various other downtown hotels. I gambled a little at MSS & The Cal but spread my $$ around downtown. I got an offer already for 3 free nights in August plus a $50 food credit. I'm already going to Vegas for work in August so I jumped on it to extend the trip. The free room is good for weekends which worked out great.

I'm just surprised I'd get that offer considering how little I spent at the property. I'll now have to make sure i gamble there a little more since i'm solo on this trip.

MSS, Cal and Fremont are all Boyd Gaming properties. Don't know if they look at the play in all three places when issuing comps.

he 4Q and the D are also pretty liberal with their comps. If you are a video poker player, the 4Q has $1 10/7 DB and the Fremont has $1, $2, $5 NSUD. I think the Cal has $1 10/7 DB as well.

Hard to say. Casinos sometimes send out "teaser" offers to get you in the door. Your play may have caused them to notice you and send you some offers to see what kind of player you are. Of course you will have to put in play to warrant future comps so it will be interesting to see what you get based on your play there.

You say you are a low roller but you don't explain what kind of player you are and how much you play. Do you average 3 or 4 hours or more a day on the machines or tables? Play minimum $25 hands at the tables? Those are what creates the offers and comps, the more you play and higher denomination hand the more offers you get. Yes you get better offers downtown, on the strip they require more play then downtown to get offers.

I'm more of a red chip player on the table, usually play about 3 hours a day (at most) so I don't get many offers so I must be a low low roller (or micro roller). Once and a while I get rated higher because I had some good runs at the table and I get some room and food credit offers but those don't happen very often.

My main games are BJ, 3 Card, VP, and some craps and let it ride. On the tables i usually play $10 a hand but when i was downtown i was playing some at the $5 min since i was betting a ton on basketball. I probably played 3 hours a day on the tables but i was bouncing between casinos. i probably played more VP at MSS and i usually play the $1 or sometimes .50c

I appreciate the offer so i'm going to make sure i at least spend more time at their tables. I was more surprised that I got one considering the minimal amount i played there. As an added benefit i can get my spam and eggs at the Cal :) Plus, the brewery there is an added bonus.

The first time I went to stay downtown at MSS (maybe 11 years ago), my wife and I walked around and signed up for the slot club at every casino, just to pick up free gifts or coupon books or free play. About a month later I got a free room offer (2 nights, mid-week) for a casino I never played a cent at. I literally just walked in, signed up to get my deck of cards, and left.

Yup enjoy your comp, hopefully you will put in enough play to warrant more comps in the future.
