Golden Nugget Pool - Question

On youtube, it looks like a bunch of kids, a small pool area, and a shadow casts on the pool. Is the pool at the Golden Nugget worth going to?

 

A lot of people love it. Kids or not, it is always way too crowded for my preference. That said, my wife is one of the people that enjoys it. I like to have some space around me and the chairs are basically side by side. There is an upper deck you can pay for that might be better from a space standpoint but I've never seen it.

The pool gets full sun for a majority of the day but there are buildings on each side so super early and later in the afternoon/evening the shadows are definitely an issue.

 

The pool is very nice and very crowded. I usually get there about 9:30 am and its packed by 11:00 am during the summer months. You'll find some empty lounge chairs usually around 5:00 pm. Still, it's a great pool.

 

The adults only pool up top is the only way to go! Its been 3 years and can't wait! D-16 days

 

I second going to the pool up a level...the adult pool. A bit pricey as they charge for everything, but well worth it. Tons of kids for sure at the shark tank... water slide certainly brings them in.

 

I have always wanted to go there, just for the shark tank! I do hear it's crowded with tons of kids, but it just looks so neat. and I've always found sharks beautiful, as long as I am not up close and personal with one of the more aggressive subspecies!

They have 5 different types of sharks: "four black-tipped sharks, three Tiger sharks (they can grow to be 350 pounds), four sandbar sharks, two zebra sharks and two nurse sharks"

Blacktips especially fascinate me. Theey're very acrobatic, jumping above the water and spinning. (I don't think they have enough room to do that at the GN, but still neat.) Blacktips are also are usually more timid around people (unless food is involved), unlike white tipped sharks, which are considered one of the more dangerous sharks towards humans. (The GN does NOT have white tipped sharks! )

Couldnt agree more. The "general" area of the pool is crowded and somewhat cramped. But its a lively place. The adults only pool up top is the way to go however. I was staying at the GG and paid for a "day bed", which was very economical for what we got. Having a waitress who came early and often was a bonus. And if i wanted to hit the slide or go down to the crowded area, i still could.

 

Wife and I will usually spend part of a few days there when its "pool season". We've been in the "Hideout" but its up to $45 per chaise lounge now, a bit too pricey for us. We usually get a drink and hang out at the edge of the pool. We're not really into laying around a bunch, prefer being in the water. The chairs in the 6" deep water near the gaming tables are fun to lounge in too, and free.

Its crowded on the weekends for sure, but its a fun place.

That is just freaky what with the sharks! I want to go there but I am scared of my own shadow.
