I like Battistas, but that's just me. Simple, not too fancy, kinda old school. Some say they love it, others say they hate it. Only Italian I've done in Vegas.

For an upscale place we like Sinatra at Encore. For a regular place I would ordinarily recommend Dal Toro at Palazzo, but the so-and-sos closed it last week! On the negative side, stay away from Buddy V's at Venetian. The place gave us the single worst meal we've ever had in Vegas, and that includes the Imperial Palace buffet!

I'm a big fan of Martorano's at Paris. Rao's at Caesars is good too.

Portofino @ Mirage is good, love the Chicken Rollatini Parmesan, and not overly expensive

We really liked Carbone at Aria but a little pricier - the Veal Parmesan ($64) is so worth it.

Checkout their menus online to see if these fall into the category you are looking for..

    NOT Canaletto.

Used to be the stop for us, but has since been removed from the access roster. Not only has the food taken a bit of dive in quality (along with some questionable menu changes), but the needle on the serviceometer is now deep into the 'nothing special / minimal tip' part of the gauge. We were very disappointed when out there in March.

I second battistas, food was amazing, everyone's dish, and free wine! Huge portions we all thought, about $20-$25 per person, can't go wrong

If you're going with a group, Carmine's at the Forum Shops is good but it's family style.

Oh god NO!!!! This restaurant is dreadful and I have to point that out so that if anybody new here choses it, we can not be held responsible for it. Terrible, terrible!!

We have heard Martorano's at Paris is very good and are going to try it. Battista's has been around forever, unlimited wine is one notch below Boone's Farm (depending on the month the vintage is from), had much better boxes of wine. Don't usually say bad things but I will make an exception for Battista's Hole in the Wall tried it 2x as we heard good things after the first time...second time even worse. Also not happy to hear Dal Toro is closed. Too many good places and great Italian (my favorite)...Rick

I am far from any sort of Italian expert, but we really enjoyed our meals at NYNY - Il Fornario right on the casino floor. We have done multiple lunches there and enjoyed it.

    I also enjoyed Bootleggers.

On strip, I liked Bacio at Trop, but it may stretch the stated budget, and I ate there before they dropped the association with Carla Pelligrino.

    Love Lago and Scarpetta!
    Carbone is my new favorite.
Entrees are pricey but huge and should be split.
Best Rigatoni with vodka sauce on the planet.Order as a pasta before dinner.
Already locked in my reservation for my August trip.

I was going to recommend Bonanno's but they closed. Martorano's is good but a bit pricey for what you get. If you have hearty appetites, it's hard to beat Carmine's.

We ate ate Martorano's at Paris a few weeks ago. It was delicious!! We heard so much about the meatballs, so we had to try them. They were SO good, and I am not a huge fan of meatballs. (maybe haven't had them prepared the right way!) We split the tomatoes and mozzarella and spaghetti. It was all delicious! We are not big eaters and we had plenty of food left over. I can't wait to go back.
