We returned home in the wee hours this morning. This trip was to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. It was a 3 generation event. My Mom and I travel almost annually to Vegas and stay at Flamingo.
We have never been to Vegas this late in the year. It was HOT, hot as in furnace blowing in your face hot!
I will report a couple of observations........
We arrived Monday evening at 8:00 pm. A few people ahead of us in line, it moved quickly. Our front desk agent Ruth was delightful. I asked for an upgrade to Go room, was willing to pay for it. She gave us room 27047 overlooking pool and High Roller. Executive floor so a bit more room. Room was very clean
Elevators a nightmare! We learned quickly not to use to Spa tower as half of the elevators were out of service. There were signs telling guests that later in the week.
In the mornings, it seemed even the main elevators were not all in use. Stopped on almost every floor even if no peeps ready to get on.
Now the pool...........no wristbands the night before as far as I can tell. We got in line at 8:30 for 9:00 am opening. Very confusing as to what pool line was what. For the adult pool, the line snaked back almost to Carlos and Charleys. The first day we got frustrated and found the line for the other pool. We got three charis no issue, not many kids around. Drink service good.
Second time we lined up at 8:30 as well. At least this time they had security checking ID's while in line. That saved some time. They did check all bags and no food or drink allowed in. Even empty water bottles!
We got three seats but quickly moved back to other pool. Far too crowded and chairs right on top of each other. To be fair, we only stayed until lunch time as the heat was oppressive. I am sure if my daughter had been there with friends of hers, the GO pool would have been where they stayed.
We checked out without going to front desk as line ups were a mile long. There are errors on our bill that I am trying to rectify.
The parking garage always a challenge but seemed a little better than when we were in town in Vegas. Still so frustrating.
Overall our experience was great. My daughter loved it, my Mom was just happy to be with us and I would return to Flamingo again.
I would be happy to answer any questions anyone has!

Did you hear at all when the elevators were being repaired? The head of Flamingo had indicated at a NYE VIP event that they would be redone this year. Just curious. I went in April & did some traipsing around the hotel itself - actually never encountered an elevator issue at all - went to a few floors on spa, main & garden elevators. I'm sure when heavy occupancy & heavier use they will likely have more issues.

Thank you for the detailed update. Heading to Flamingo in a month and will plan with these issues in mind.

You are most welcome. Hopefully elevator issue will be resolved by the time you get there!

I think they are slowly repairing them all. The ones that were actually in service had been upgraded for sure.

I'm curious as to why you can't bring a bottle of water in the pool area, what if it hasn't been opened, I mean if you really do just want water but don't want to pay an outrageous price for it at the pool is there any option?

Drinks are not allowed so that you are forced to purchase them at the pool.

Shame on you CET. This was not the case at least at Luxor and Mirage, in my experience. I was able to walk in with a full bottled water and it was visible by the agent. Banning this is utter bullshit when you have already paid $30/night for the privilege of using the pool.

There is water available at no charge. The glasses are tiny however. I wanted to bring an empty water bottle so I could fill it up.........couldn't bring an empty one in. I have no idea why? It was 110 degrees, you would think they would do everything possible to keep patrons hydrated.........

So you stayed in the Spa tower? Other than the elevators how was it? I haven't stayed at the Flamingo in about 20 years, I'm not sure which tower is "better" than the others.

Not sure exactly what tower we were in. The front desk lady told us to use those elevators but due to the construction so I assume the Spa? We used the main ones and we were actually closer to our room from there! We overlooked the pool and high roller. Across the hall would be what I would consider the best view rooms. They over look Bally's and the Bellagio fountains. Have to be on higher floor though due to Cromwell being higher now. We were on an Executive floor so the room was considerably larger than the GO room we had in February. Not huge by any stretch but with three people, it did give us a bit more room. They have finally got smart and covered the lounge chair in almost an indoor outdoor material that can be easily wiped off. The plush velour had to go! Room was clean, maid service great.

We stayed at Flamingo 5/30 through 6/3. I had reserved the GO Luxury strip view room. When we checked in I asked for a room that used the lobby elevators and had the fountain view. I realized that we may get a lot of noise from Drais at the Cromwell but was willing to risk it for the view. We had stayed in these rooms a few years ago and really loved it.
The elevators were fine. Never had to wait more than a couple of minutes and they were always clean.
Our room on the other hand was not as clean as it should have been, I didn't complain but I'm sure that some people would have. The vent in the bathroom and in the hallway were caked with dust bunnies, the carpet was stained, the couch was stained, the bedding was nice and clean and the beds very comfy.
We had a water leak I assume that was coming from the bathroom sink, the carpet on that side of the bed was sopping wet on our last day there.

The noise from the Cromwell wasn't that bad. We could only hear it on two nights that we were there Tuesday and Thursday I think. I'm not really sure why they play it so loud because there was only 3 or 4 people out there. Maybe there is an area that you can't see from above?

The elevators were a NIGHTMARE for our trip last September...crazy the problem hasn't been addressed. I've posted a few times about it but had the same issues as you. It would take 20 mins to get from the room to the casino floor.

Insane that they let this problem continue.

We'll be there Sun-Thur before moving over to the Palms. The noise wouldn't bother me but it might bother others in the group. There are 3 towers correct? Habitat, Spa and ??? I've heard Habitat tower isn't any good. So maybe we'll ask for Spa tower, strip view if noise isn't an issue in that tower.

We stayed in the Spa tower a few years ago. The view was nice but we had problems with the elevators being slow and one time we just stopped between floors and did the tower of terror thing by dropping 5 floors all the sudden. We had never had a problem with the lobby elevators so that is why I had requested a room using those.
I'm not sure if the rooms that overlook Caesars are noisy or not. If you asked for one closer to the Linq those wouldn't have the noise from Cromwell but traffic noise may be a problem there.

Last year when we went, my 18 year old daughter went into the GO pool, no problem. It sounds like they are checking IDs now, correct? No chance of her getting in, you think? If not, do the two pools connect in any way? We've never been to the family pool, I don't think. Although it seems that if you go back toward the restrooms and up some stairs there is a smaller pool back there. Is that the family pool? Thanks.
