    My Trip Report

I currently live overseas in a tiny country called Qatar and had a Vegas trip originally booked for derby weekend using a 4 day mailer to meet my buddy Wezvidz for our 3rd annual derby weekend trip but due to poor timing with work I had to postpone.

I called Cosmo and asked to see if I could get the offer rolled over to June to align with my old college roommates wedding in Detroit and they booked me in. I gave W the heads up and even though he already went to Vegas in May, he made arrangements and was going to meet up in June. Awesome.

I left Qatar Thursday at 2:40am for JFK on a 14 hour flight and transferred over to LGA then flew home to OH to see family and have dinner overnight before driving up to Detroit Friday mid day. We had a lovely dinner and all went as planned as I met with my best friend from HS for our 3 hour drive and we headed up. The church for the wedding was absolutely beautiful

and the reception was in the Henry Ford Museum.

It allowed us to have free range through the museum throughout the night and made for an incredibly memorable event.

Quick detour, if you are ever in the area and appreciate American history, go visit The Henry Ford Museum.

    uploadfromtaptalk1465403347328.jpg

Contrary to first thought, the museum wasnt simply about Ford's history and vehicles and it turns out Ford and his estate are big collectors of American history. Some of the highlights include the bus in which Rosa Parks incident took place, the chair in which Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, the vehicle in which Kennedy was shot, and a 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royale valued at 18million+.

Rosa Parks bus, it has been renovated for 300-400k.

President Lincoln's chair which was different from other theatre chairs because his larger size. Sadly, this was also the chair in which he was assassinated.

Friday night we had the rehearsal and dinner then headed off to MGM for some play and after a couple of hours I managed to drop a couple bills playing the DCs. My buddy from HS had never played before so we were showing him the game and I let him roll for me and he snapped off 4 or 5 points. His second roll he hit another 2 and I could tell he was hooked. Eventually he bought in and played a bit and finished up $5. We all advised him to never play again but the next day I caught him I'm YouTube with video tutorials for the game. Whoops.

The wedding was a blast, the ceremony was great, and we partied the night away at the museum. I knew I had to save myself for the following week so I wasn't entirely disappointed when the hotel bar was closed at the end of the night but I would have liked to have spent some additional time with friends. Off to bed for some rest before flight out in the am.

Now here's where I screwed up. I am OCD about checking travel plans and my flight statuses. Sunday I get up at 8am for my 12:15pm flight direct to LAS with Spirit airlines arriving shortly after 1pm. I take my time getting ready and grab breakfast and my buddy takes me to the airport arriving at 10:15am. I had checked in 24 hours prior and had a carry on and checked bag paid for already so went to do a quick bag drop. As I queued in line I was told I had to print my pass and the ticket on my phone wasn't sufficient. I tried to print but it told me it was too late so I needed to see an agent. Back to the line.. as I am walking up to the agent I pull my details up again and see the flight departure time.. 11:00am!!! ****** my gut drops and I walk up quickly and advise the agent it said I needed to visit them and when I tell her my flight she tells me it's too late and I need to go to the other line to rebook and next flight out is 7pm. Ugh.. disgusted I head over that way but am called back as they ask if I have already checked in. I say yes and they tell me to go back, proceed to take my bag and tell me it will be on next flight and they rush me over to the security line which was nearly empty and I get through quickly and without incident. I am happy when I make it on board with plenty of time but disgusted with myself for allowing it to happen. Flight goes off just fine and I get to Vegas and find bag did make it. Win! Off to Cosmo to checkin at 1pm and I have the Vegas itch once again.

    More to come later..

Great pictures. Have been to that Museum a few times. Always great.
We flew Qatar Air into Doha recently and were blown away by the business lounge there.

On Sunday I checked in after cabbing it from the airport and realized that by flying Spirit I had come through a different terminal that I was used to and there was no need for the tram. Takes a little of the nostalgia away but it was quicker getting out.

    Checking in at Autograph lounge.

The offer was a 4 night mailer for One Bedroom Terrace and I get a high floor east tower upon request. I go upstairs to unpack my things and make my way across to the walgreens to pick up some gatorade and misc. items.

Once I return I head down to Boulevard pool but only stay for 30 minutes or so.

    uploadfromtaptalk1465412459969.jpg

W is arriving now and on his way to PHO to check in. I get ready and head down for a craps session while waiting for him. First session on the DCs and it's not going great. Down a little but nothing terrrible.

We headed over to Cosmos new Sports Book which I absolutely love. Great layout, lot of tvs, nice bartenders and just an overall great vibe. I now have no reason to leave the property..

    uploadfromtaptalk1465412531081.jpg

Ended up dropping some bets on the Cavs for the NBA finals. They had won 8 or 9 straight game 2s when losing game 1. Not today.. luckily I had 4 of my 5 prop bets come through first to get off to a good start but my bigger bets did not land so ended up down a little overall. Nailed Cavs first to score, first to get 10, first to get 20 and final score Odd. Only missed LeBron over on points. Nearly paid for my MLB ticket so no biggie.

We ended up putting in prolly 4 hours of VP at bar top but was drinking mostky and watching MLB and NBA so was not carrying a high average of hands per hour. Also finished down a bit in VP as well. Here are the only hands of interest.

    Nice draw..

    uploadfromtaptalk1465412830680.jpg

    I'll take it.
    uploadfromtaptalk1465412900555.jpg

After seeing the Cavs get obliterated we head back to craps tables and get the same treatment. We are laying DCs and watching a very choppy table somehow still turn into big losses. There were a lot of repeat numbers and 7 outs so we couldn't get it going and at one point I upped my bets and had both DCs travel to 10 and 4 where I laid max on the increased bets and shooter went 10, 4, 7 out. It was bad variance but also brutal for day 1. We decide to call it a day and part our separate ways. Luckily the next day would turn things around.

    Next morning

    uploadfromtaptalk1465413829791.jpg

I'm up by 6am thanks to jet lag and get showered and head down to try my hand at craps. Just a couple people who leave shortly on a cold table and I get it to myself to roll for awhile and ended up making 400ish.

    Cashing out.
    uploadfromtaptalk1465413945887.jpg

Stopped by to check college football futures and see lot of movement to bring odds down for Mich and OSU

W meets me and we head over to Mon Ami Gabi which has long been on my bucket list. I went with a basic plate bacon eggs toast and was underwhelmed. View was great but food was meh.

After breakfast we headed up to Cromwell for craps play. Managed to put in a winning session for another 300+

Forgot to take picture from previous nights cashout so took this..
    uploadfromtaptalk1465414297360.jpg

After Cromwell we headed back to Cosmo before W stopped by PHO to place his parlays for the day and get drink tickets (Cosmo doesn't comp drinks for bets) then headed back over for more craps before placing bets of my own on Penguins moneyline and the under (both winners) and some baseball parlays.

    uploadfromtaptalk1465414745439.jpg

Craps session finishes up again at +3-400.

    uploadfromtaptalk1465414507947.jpg

We stop by my room and on the way see folks taking photos for what looks like a promotion for opening of the new EggSlut on 6/10.

Once we came back down from the room we headed to the Sports Book to get our seats for the NHL finals. The next bit will have lots of VP porn as I finally started heating up..

Great start, thanks for posting. The museum looks very cool, where is that? Have to ask about Qatar too, how is that place? I've read a bunch of stories about the construction work for the FIFA World Cup and apparently the human rights aren't that popular around there.

Thanks for all the pictures from the wedding and reception. That church is absolutely gorgeous and I never knew of the Henry Ford Museum. Never been to Detroit but if I'm ever up that way, the museum is a definite see.

Nice room at Cosmo. Sounds like the gambling gets better and can't wait to read about it.

My dad took me to the Ford museum as a kid and I returned a few years ago when my niece graduated from eastern Michigan. Definitely worth it! Plan to spend HOURS there to take it all in.

Great report and pictures. The Cosmo sports book is very nice. They don't give drink tickets because they are not part of the casino. I also wanted some drink tickets after making bets there last month, and the guy taking my bets told me that. Great wins!!
