    Hello,
I am considering staying at Gold Coast in August. I have a couple of questions for those that have stayed there. First, do they still sell inexpensive beer and liquor in their gift shop? And second, is the TGI Fridays still open 24 hours? I really appreciate anyone's input!
Also, if you've stayed there recently, how was your experience?

    Thanks in advance!

I haven't stayed at GC since late January or early February, but as far as I know, Friday's is open 24/7. (It's not like the Orleans, where Friday's is closed in the mornings, since they have a coffee shop.) I can't comment on "inexpensive," but they certainly sell beer, wine, and liquor in their gift shop … like everywhere. Obviously, I like GC or I wouldn't keep going back. No problems and no complaints.

I've never stayed there but I've played there a lot. Always $5 tables. I never win there (craps) but play there every time I stay at Rio or Palms. Ping Pang Pong is good too.

The only drawback in my opinion is the selection of restaurants compared to most properties. Cortez Room has gone down hill with the menu change a while back. Buffet is a bargain for breakfast but no other experience with it. However Palms / Rio are within walking distance and shuttle comes and goes to Orleans and strip so if that is a concern you are close to relief.
Rooms good but I go far from elevators so to not hear late night drunks and don't.....so can't comment on the quietness of rooms etc. The little window in the shower is nice though.

bubbakitty - I've stayed at Gold Coast a couple of times, and (surprisingly?), the breakfast at TGIFriday's was remarkably good!
Staying there again for two nights on my upcoming trip... it's a decent property...not fancy, plush or luxurious - but clean and comfortable.

We love the Noodle Exchange for their lunch special. $8 for egg drop soup, an entrée, rice and egg roll. And you can pay with points at a discount - 600 points for $1. So good! Try it, you'll like it!

    Cheers,

From what I've heard very few of the rooms have safes. I called them and they told me they are starting to put them in but there is no way to get a room guaranteed to have a safe.

Some people consider their liquor store/convenience store inexpensive.

I can tell you this, their best bottle of wine in there is Earthquake, and I pay $25 per bottle where I live. At their liquor store it was $20 bucks. I purchased that bottle in December 2015 as a gift for a friend that gambles at Gold Coast.

Usually stay there once a year..Re the gift shop..I only buy beer there, but it's really the same price I pay back home..Rio on the other hand is way more.I'd bet the liquor prices are the same.
Only problem is no fridge in the room you have to make do ,ice in the sink etc
I'm pretty sure the Friday's is open all night,Don't recall ever being shut-out there for some to-go food for the room..

I got a 6-pack in the gift shop for $6.80 or something last week. Rio was just about over double that.

I enjoy GC. I get comped rooms with no resort fee. They have good VP rules. Decent selection of slots and table games although a bit smoky.

Decent prices in the sundries/liquor store way better than the strip.

When I was there in January TGIF was 24 hours.

I am surprised no one mentioned Ping Pang Pong great Chinese food. They also have a really good buffet breakfast it's about 7 dollars and beats TGIF all to hell with fresh fruit, yogurt. and custom omelets.

We've stayed at GC many times, although lately more at Orleans (bigger, more restaurants, better pool). GC is great for good VP, Blackjack, etc. Drinks at bar are offered even before you put money in a machine. Yes, the liquor/gift shop has great prices, esp. for hard liquor (we're from Canada, so everything is cheaper). As someone said, the TGIF breakfast is fine; we also like their 'Happy Hour' menu starting at 9 pm. Makes for a cheap, late night meal.

Good free shuttle service to The Orleans & The High Roller at The Linq. About every 20 minutes or so. 9am-12:30am. Very convenient.

We've stayed in their lowest price room twice. Each one had a safe. Room and bathroom were decent size and clean.

Great gaming at the GC...especially for vp players. Rooms are clean but nothing special. Pool is heated but small. Two great Chinese restaurants and a good breakfast buffet. It's my favorite Boyd Property because I love a fair game and I love Chinese food.

Cortez Room really has dropped in value/quality and now they are closing the place to add another steakhouse...a year ago, that would have been terrible news...not now. We like the VP there, but haven't had much luck in recent trips...hopefully they haven't tightened up. Not great for the sportsbook as we prefer the Orleans...they also have the full liquor store there.

I don't stay there but I often purchase beer, wine and liquor in their gift shop when staying at Palms and find the prices very reasonable. For 24 hour dining, the 24/7 Cafe at the Palms is quite good. Head out the back door of Gold Coast and Palms is right across the street.

I don't recall seeing any $5 tables when I've been at Gold Coast in the morning for breakfast...$25 tables the minimum? I know I've walked through the pit at 8AM & thought that whoever is in charge of this casino is nuts with the minimums they had at the tables..

Are you sure yo uare talking about the Gold Coast? I've been there dozens of times, all hours and days and have always played $5 craps and have seen $5 BJ tables. . $25 minimums at all tables at 8 a.m. at the Gold Coast? No way.
