    Hey, equal time.

I wouldn't go there because it's in Chester, but there is also a race track next to it.

Why do you think the name was changed to Harrah's Philadelphia from Harrah's Chester? :rolleyes2:

It's next to a prison, an oil refinery, and a trash to steam plant. But they have free soda fountains and a nice view of the Delaware River and another oil refinery in New Jersey. Plus, you can see the cooling towers of the Salem Nuclear plant.

I've made a couple of trips to Delaware Park to scream at the simulcast ponies for the Derby and Preakness races. It is a fun time and the park is old school.

I was there last Sunday. It's a decent place. Alas, no free drinks at the VP bar.

You can order a comp drink at any of the slot machines and the VP bar will comp when activity playing with card for Diamond and 7*. Place is decent and safe even though in Chester

Man, Delaware Park! I used to love that place. One day, I stood right next to Willie Shoemaker up on his mount. This was real close to his end, but he was still a god sitting up there. Really fun times.

I did not know about the name change.

Wow, a great story. The slots at Delaware Park are video lottery terminals, but they have decent blackjack, always have $10 tables with 3:2, H17, surrender, double after split. I think it's an 8 deck shoe. Even $5 craps. The downside is they charge for drinks.

They still have the grove and some folks bring blankets and a picnic lunch. The PA casinos are putting a hurt on, plus it's difficult to fund purses to keep a decent racing schedule. But it's a throwback place and a fun afternoon.

Unfortunately, The city of Chester is in bad shape, but I have visited Harrahs several times and never felt unsafe. My only beef is the smoke level there.
