    My Trip Report

Sometimes the straightest line between 2 places involves 2500 mile detour through Vegas. Especially if one of those places is my mom's house. Anyway I'm off to burn some bridges and use up some of the good will that being a bit of a degenerate has granted me. I'll do my best to document my expenses to see if I can end up ahead on this trip.

Day 1 Alberta to Helena MT.

Just a quick post to work on my formating and technique. Had a terrible night sleep so I decided to get on the road a day early and make it a comfortable 2 1/2 day journey instead of the obvious 2 day trip it is. Loaded the truck with clothes, golf clubs and bowling balls and hit the road at the crack of 230 in the afternoon.

    Daily cost:
    Gas 60
    Hotel 120
    Food 20

Down 200 for the trip, current gambling bankroll 200

Day 2 Helena MT to Beaver UT

Another travel day. Just 230 miles left. I know some may wonder: why Beaver? Well it was the cheapest hotel I could find burning some Wyndham points between Provo and St George.

I should be in Vegas by lunch. 2 of the weeks 6 checkins on tap. Scary thing is I could do 4 more if I wanted maximize my offers but I am afraid of some smart "continuous comp vs. ADT computer program" running on a schwack of Cray supercomputers in a back room whose only previous permanent residents were a bat, a vise and some pliers figuring out what I'm up to and cancelling my booked offers mid trip. Plus if my visa received 4 deposit requests from different hotels in the same day and didn't lock up I would be amazed and slightly miffed.

    Day 2 totals
    Gas 100
    Hotel 35
    Food 25
Bankroll untouched at 200 (thank you Montana for having some of the dingiest sad assortment of gaming machines ever to be labeled a casino)

    Total expenses so far 360

Some folks will do anything to avoid TSA.
This looks to be a very interesting TR - can't wait to read the rest.
Safe travels and much good luck.

$100 a day for gas sounds like a lot. Is that loonies or greenbacks? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to fly? We readers appreciate your sacrifice.

I drive a ford f150 so gas is a bit of a issue especially at 80 mph. Last time I flew it was about 350 USD for the ticket and another 250 for a weeks car rental. Plus I'm the size where it's a bit uncomfortable for me to fly which I can deal with but I can't abide causing the poor middle seat occupant discomfort.

    29 may mss and trop.

Arrived at main street station after a quick detour to the paiute smoke shop for pipe tobacco and a pack of cloves for me and a pack of fantasias for my niece. Couldn't get a room but did check in and picked up my free play and meal booklet. Managed to turn 100 fp into 105 real money and had a quick lunch at the 777 after putzing around a bit (forgot the time difference). Wandered over to the D picked up my coupons for Adiamos. Loaded FP on card but due to bad payables and crap variance gave up on VP after 40 bucks became 12. Went on tilt at the slots and turned all the fp to dust then the rest of the bankroll and shamefully visited the atm and continued chasing my losses only saving one crisp hundy for the two 50 dollar matchplays. Played Darkside at craps and netted 3 blacks for my efforts.

Returned to MSS and checked in went up to the room for a relax and a quick top 'n tail (whores bath or quick towel off depending on your level of sophistication).

Hoped in the truck drove to the Trop valet. Bags to bell desk and straight past the unwashed masses to the invited guest line. Check in was a breeze and I was in my room at the trop and less than a half hour from the time I left my room downtown.

Got my free play sorted and picked up a ticket for raiding the rock vault. Turned 600 FP into this

Had an hour to kill before the show so I smoked a cigar drank a couple bourbon and ran into a buzz saw at the ultimate Texas holdem table. If I had someone sitting to my right I would have cleaned up. Example I have a pair of 8s so I bet 4x, board has trips but my full house loses to hers as the 9 in her hand pairs the board. Luckily the show was starting so I left with a few hundred still in my pocket.

Show was good I enjoyed it. Maybe not as much the mom squad up front but I don't have fond memories of making out during high school to Bon Jovi's living on a prayer either.

After show had a few drinks while playing some bartop vp and assorted slots until I saw the new Caddyshack slot. Decided to play until I hit a bonus then cash out and go back to the room. Second last 20 hit the bonus. 150 penny return to me FMLuck. Spin off the last few dollars and walked away with 15 cents in the machine and 20 bucks in my pocket.

    Summary:

    Food 0
    Rooms 0
    Tips 40ish
Bankroll 20 left (tomorrow is a new day and I will be responsible with my CET free play I promise )

It's times like those, you gotta be glad your playing the trips, so you still win two units. (Lose ante/blind+4x raise, but win 8 units on the trips)
If you're not playing trips...it's actually only 3% he vs. 2.5ish% for the main game,

Well the beating continued at Cromwell. Not happy with myself as my impulse control disappears 5 drinks in and all hell breaks loose. Might fill in that story later but for now let's just say I woke up June 1rst with 4 dollars to my name unsure if I had any access to cash for the duration left of my vacation. Thanks be to monthly freeolay and the comp God's I'm still having a good day

Just remember you were playing with freeplay and try not to stress, also, things can change very quickly with a few good hits!
