    My Trip Report

It feels like forever since we went to Vegas! Seven very, very long months!

    Offer:

3 nights in a Luxury Suite
    $300 FP
    $250 RC
    Limo to and from airport
2 extra nights comped up front by host

    MyVegas Rewards:
    Mine:
    $50 & $25 FP
    $75 off $150 at Tender
2 breakfast/lunch buffet at Feast the buffet Red Rock

    DH:
    $25 FP
    $50 off $100 at Rice & Co
$20 off $40 at Public House

    MResort (DH & I):
    Free buffet
    $20 FP

Car rental Budget on West Tropicana: Cost for Tuesday - Friday $104, with the free pick up/drop off it was a great value.

We flew out of Bellingham on Alaska, the flight was smooth and uneventful. Normally we upgrade to first class but were unable to as it was full when we checked in exactly 24 hours before our flight. When we got our seats on the plane we booked window and aisle in hopes that we would have the row to ourselves and we succeeded! BOOM! First win of the trip!!

We arrived early into Vegas and when we got to baggage claim there wasn’t a driver waiting for us. I gave our host a quick call and she thought we were renting a car as we asked for a parking pass so didn’t book one for the trip in. She did offer to send a car but it wasn’t busy so we declined and took a taxi. When we arrived at the hotel our host was outside waiting for us and informed us the room wasn’t ready but they had a rush on it. We chatted with our host for a bit, made plans for lunch later in the week, got our parking pass and headed to “work”, or should I say headed to the casino. It was only about an hour and I got a call that the room was ready.

We always have the same luxury suite in the East tower and to our surprise they have removed the dresser in the bedroom as well as the door between the bedroom and living area. We mentioned this to our host and she explained that they have brought furniture from Bellagio for the rooms and had to remove the door as it was hitting the new TV’s they put in the rooms. There used to be a dresser that sat below the TV which would have stopped the door from hitting the TV if they would have kept it there. Needless to say you can hang up your clothes but have to live out of your suitcase for anything you cannot hang; which, we found very inconvenient for a 5 day trip. Some pictures of the room and our view :)

We did rent a car from Budget on Tropicana and they picked us up at the hotel Tuesday and then dropped us off at the hotel upon returning the car. Cost for Tuesday - Friday $104, with the free pick up/drop off it was a great value.

    Food:

We aren’t foodies, so if you are a foodie this won’t impress at all. I have allergies and hate being a pain when dining out, but I have to be careful so each server probably found me a little exhausting. I’m allergic to wheat, cow dairy, eggs, chocolate and a mild allergy to peanuts. The list is the order of how much we enjoyed our dining options, best being first.

Tender – The servers were fabulous! DH started with lobster bisque and I had salad. We both had a steak, shared asparagus and then ended our meal with sorbet.

Studio B at M Resort – this is by far my favorite buffet in Vegas. The options were vast, even for me! The beer and wine being included is a huge plus! Free is always good too!

Rice & Co. – I was impressed with the server taking the time to explain the gluten free menu to me (which I generally order from but am limited even then with the eggs, and dairy allergies) and the chef was able to accommodate my needs. I had a salmon sushi roll and garlic shrimp dish on rice. It was fabulous! DH had the war wonton and a beef dish that he really enjoyed. He said the wonton would have been enough.

T&T – We visit T&T with our host every trip so we can catch up. The server was fabulous and very funny! I had grilled fish tacos on corn tortillas and DH had a steak fajita.

Burger Bar – The server was extremely attentive and knew the menu and could direct me to what was wheat free. The gluten free bun had eggs so I had a burger lettuce wrap and gluten free potato wedges.

Feast buffet at Red Rock – the buffet was good, nicely laid out and plenty of options.

MORE Buffet at Luxor(breakfast) – we decided that breakfast buffet was best as I could have a variety of fresh fruit and bacon/ham and they have oatmeal. DH had omelets and toast and was very satisfied with the choices for breakfast.

Pyramid Café – This restaurant doesn’t have a gluten free menu which is shocking as most do! I had fresh fruit and a side of bacon. We will not be dining here again unless they bring in a menu with allergy information.

Public House – Very disappointing as they don’t have a gluten free menu and the server didn’t seem to care that I had allergies nor did she help with the menu.

We are slot players and enjoy the odd session at VP. This trip was more slot play than any VP. Here are a few hits that we had :D

    LUXOR:

We did make a stop at M Resort which is a casino we love! There are plenty of different machines to play and we seem to have our money last longer here. The drink service was fantastic when we were here. We will probably stay here more often in future trips. We had a free buffet coupon and some free play to use from a mailer we received. We are hoping that the Tropicana will send us an offer as we made a stop there as well, not sure it was long enough though to trigger any type of offer, we shall see.

Red Rock casino is impressive as well, I really like the slot choices they have. The employees are friendly and accommodating, it might be worth a stay one day.

    GOLF!

Another golf adventure! I didn’t golf great, but then I’ve only been golfing for 3 years (in my 4th now) and we only seem to golf “away” courses once in a blue moon.

Stallion Mountain- this course was enjoyable, it was a good start for the trip. I played from the Golds shot a 94. The greens killed us as they were hard and fast! I birdied hole 5 from off the green, texas wedge style! On hole 7 you couldn’t stop the ball on the green either up or down hill. If you went past the hole, no matter how far it would roll back down to the bottom of the green.

Wolf Creek – I played whites, it was a good challenge for me, shot 96. I was doing fabulous until a fellow joined up with us on the 13th hole then I tightened right up and couldn’t hit out of my shadow. The course has amazing views, and the service was fantastic! We had heard service was hit or miss, and we definitely visited on a good day. I left my sand wedge on a hole and recovered it as we passed the snack bar as the girl there had it. There isn’t an easy or good way to go back to recover clubs left behind so I was thankful that I got it back. Bonus - I only lost 2 balls!

    IMG_1449[1].JPG IMG_1450[1].JPG IMG_1451[1].JPG IMG_1452[1].JPG IMG_1454[1].JPG IMG_1455[1].JPG IMG_1456[1].JPG IMG_1457[1].JPG IMG_1458[1].JPG IMG_1459[1].JPG IMG_1463[1].JPG IMG_1464[1].JPG IMG_1465[1].JPG IMG_1466[1].JPG

TPC Las Vegas – This course kicked my ass, I shot 99! We hit a bit of rain too, was a downpour that lasted about 10 minutes. I played blended ladies, parred the first hole and the game went downhill from there. We were paired up with two other fellows, one of which was an amazing golfer I think he was even for the round. It was a pleasure to watch his swing all day.

All in all it was a fabulous trip!! The weather was great for golf, the food was fabulous and the gambling was amazing! Now to plan the next trip :D

Nice report. We're you able to use Myvegas FP?

We were not able to at MB because the terms & conditions clearly say it's not valid if room is comped .. :-(

    Brutal.

Nice. Thank you for sharing with us. By the way, what does DH mean? I assume it's your husband, but sure. Some of the lingo is still lost on me.

Very nice trip report. Awesome hit on Quick Hits! Wow, eating out must really be a struggle for you. I can't imagine having all of those allergies.

Thanks for sharing with us. Great pictures.

Fligster – we got the parking pass for the “Noir” parking area. It’s much handier for us when we take the sticks.

Spock – Yes, we were able to use the FP; the terms and conditions thus far are only different at Mandalay Bay.

Lovegas95 – DH is darling husband, although at times I think we can think of other words for them ;)

Josie- It was exciting, we 9 Quick Hits during the bonus round! Yes, eating out can be very challenging and takes planning.

Having a hard time picturing what you meant by removing a door... Do you have older pictures of the suite to show as an example?
We used to love the Pyramid Cafe when we stayed there. I think T&T's Salsa is some of the best I've ever tasted! Nice report Thanks!

Nice hits. By the way, we just came back from Luxor and always get a Luxury Suite comped, however, when we tried to extend a couple of days the clerk told us that all the Luxury rooms are going to be remodeled and were not available. It worked out for us since we got the Premium for a reduced rate.

Mdee – I wish I had an older picture, but I never took pics of the room before as it didn’t seem important. The door they removed separated the bedroom from the living area. Now when you are in the bedroom you can see the TV in the living area. On some trips we take friends and they would stay in the adjoining room and we left the doors open between the two rooms, now it wouldn’t be possible to do so with the door removed to the bedroom of the suite.

Tringlomane – It’s always a shocker to hit that large on that size bet! Sad part is being Canadian they take 1/3 of the winnings!

Weluvvegas – We love the majestic lions, it’s always a stop at least once a trip.

Candydave – That is very lucky… you can chalk that up to a win right at the start :D
