I'm going to be dropping Mrs Mikey off at the shops while I go and watch a Euro 2016 game somewhere. When we did this a few years ago I went to Red Rock but is there somewhere a little nearer that I could go to?

Ideally it would have a sports book that will show some Europeans kicking a ball around a field, and a likelihood of getting out alive would be nice too :pirate:

If it's any more than a 15 minute drive I'll probably just do Red Rock again. It's likely to be a midweek game that kicks off at noon.

    Cheers.

I dug the map out and Texas Station and Arizona Charlies are relatively nearby. Any reason not to give one of them a go?

Charlie's has a very small sports book geared to cranky locals. I highly doubt that they would have a soccer game. Your biggest fear of not getting out alive would be death due to secondhand smoke.

Look lets not knock Arizona Charlies. Their sports book is a great place to play horses. Unfortunately theydo not have soccer. The Crown and Ancgor British pub is at Soring Mountain and Decatur about 3 mikes south

Well that's no use as there's only one of me :evillaugh:

I think I'll probably just go to Red Rock again as I can do the Scenic Loop drive after the game and madam gets a bit more shopping time.

Crown and Anchor is probably a good call, didn't know about that location. The other location ( east of strip) was closed down due to health code violations. Not sure if it reopened.

There is a nice English (or Irish not sure) pub in Rampart casino also.

As mentioned, Arizona Charlies is the closest casino to meadows mall, only a couple of blocks away. Texas station is only a few minutes from the mall as is Fiesta Rancho. On the west side, the Rampart and suncoast are near meadows mall.

Not sure about the sports books in those casinos.

Thanks folks. I think I'll stick with Red Rock as I know what I'm getting there and as I'll be driving I won't be drinking.

We might do those casinos as a separate expedition!

I like Arizona Charlies. Nothing to go out of the way for, but if in the neighborhood, do it. Excellent drink service on the floor!

I would skip the meadows mall because there is a brand new mall adjacent to Redrock casino called Downtown Summerlin. Its an outdoors mall if you dont mind walking outside between shops. http://www.downtownsummerlin.com/directory/
Summerlin is a super nice area of Las Vegas and I feel safe shopping there.
