.....somebody on a game show turns to the audience and asks "what should I do?"

......a station ( yea you Fox) advertises an upcoming show during every commercial break

Except for sports, we watch no live TV. Everything is off the DVR and fast forward through all commercials and these days 3/4 of all the late night shows.

I think its not so much they dont know the prices but they dont want to take responsibility for picking the wrong one. Ask the audience and you can always fall back on that if wrong, Get the winning one, you can take the credit for it yourself.

When I'm watching sports and they do in game interviews with coaches with split screens. Totally useless.....

TV shows and movies where actors look directly at the screen and talk to the Audience. I made it through about an episode and a half of House of Cards and said enough.

When the background sound drowns out any dialogue, during a show.
And also sound related, when the volume shoots through the roof when a commercial comes on.

Haven't you heard. The FCC has mandated that commercials can't be louder than the average program volume.:bang: :grrr: :evillaugh:

Must be a problem with my TV then, I know Time-Warner wouldn't allow such an inadvertent glitch! o_O

I'm with Joe, sports are the only thing I watch live. There are a few shows I try to watch the same night so I don't hear/read spoilers but I can't stand commercials.

Oh yeah, Mike you gotta go back. Those asides reveal just how big a prick he really is. This is a really good show. Kevin Spacey, 'nuff said.

An endorsement from two of VMB's best goes a long way in my book.....I'll give House of Cards another shot. I'm always looking for a good series to watch.

I still hate in-game live interviews.......Kate Upton couldn't change my mind on that one.

My Dad, who made a good living producing and directing TV commercials for 20 years, would be SOOOO disappointed in you Joe!
Frankly though, we pretty much do the same thing!!! More efficient use of time...

funny enough, sports is the thing that makes me want to kick my TV.... for example, when the Warriors get blown out by Oklahoma City , or anytime the Niners are on.

Of my 35 years working in TV, I spent about 20 of them working in Master Control and another 10 years making and editing commercials. Believe me I have seen enough commercials for two lifetimes!

Another vote for too many repeat commercials, especially during a movie. I was channel surfing last night and caught the last 45 minutes of the movie Blow on IFC channel. A two hour movie became 3 hours and it seems there were breaks every 10 minutes. Thankfully we have Netflix, Verizon Fios On Demand, and Showtime commercial free.
