NYNY Rooms - Your Insight

I am seeking a lower-end Mlife property as a back up and never stayed at NYNY. I am not a fan of the casino floor, but the property location is the tempter. Years ago, I stayed at MC (numerous) and Ex (once).

I checked my Mlife account and thought, "hmm. . . .NYNY".

For those who have stayed there, would you tell me the difference between the Madison Avenue and Park Avenue rooms? What is/was your experience?

Madison Avenue is slightly bigger than the Park Avenue rooms. I've stayed in both and given that the bulk of the time in the room is for sleeping and showering, I didn't really care about the slight size difference. The bathrooms are typical hotel style. Single vanity, tub/shower combo, and a toilet. I will say the Madison Avenue room I had on my first trip had a huge walk in closet, which was nice because all our luggage fit easily and didn't clutter the room.

Stayed at NYNY for a couple of days two weeks ago (first time in 5-6 years). I'd compare the rooms to what you'll get at Monte Carlo and a step above Exal. Clean but a little dated. All in all, I'd definitely stay there again.

Stayed there in August of 2015, it was our first time there. Not sure what kind of room it was, we were in the Chrysler Tower. The rooms were great and so was NYNY in general. I don't put too much into the rooms at any hotel, as long as it's clean. We are probably going to stay there again this September.

 

I've stayed there 5 times, usually on Mlife comps. It's one of my home bases in town. Every room I've had (mostly Madison Ave, in different towers) has been clean, quiet and comfortable. Not sure if it's the resort or maybe I've just lucked out, but I've never had issues with loud neighboring rooms or even really noticeable hall traffic. The roller coaster noise during the day (mostly screaming people) can be noticeable, but it's not too loud, and kinda adds to the fun.

If you're into views, it can be hit or miss there. I've had great north-facing strip views, arena views, but also obstructed views due to the odd structure and layout of the towers. Century tower's probably your best bet if that's your thing.

Sorry to hear you're not a fan of the casino floor. I adore it. Always great energy, busy but not crowded. Not a lot places to eat/drink but what there is is good. Nine Fine is a great place with live music every night (go to the upstairs bar if the downstairs is packed), Times Square can be a lot of fun and if you haven't eaten at Gallagher's it's a must. Criminally underrated steakhouse. I'm not a big fan of Tom's Urban but at least you can always get a seat in there. I've also had some luck there on the slots, which is saying a lot for me.

Wife and I stay at NYNY every year (next trip coming up 4th of July weekend). Definitely get the Madison Avenue room as it is bigger and has more closet space. Ask for a high floor (no roller coaster noise), strip view. We usually stay somewhat close to the elevator and have never had an issue with hallway noise or having to wait long for the elevator.

 

have stayed there the last couple of years, never had a bad room. bad view maybe but not a big deal. always have a great time here.

 

Stayed there last August.... honestly can't remember the tower we were in, but the 'strip view' consisted on the HVAC units in front of us and a sliver of something across the street. The armoire wouldn't shut tight so the light stayed on the whole time, even at night. Very small room, standard hotel. We had just stayed at Bally's in a Jubilee room, so it was a serious downgrade. Wouldn't stay there again.

 

We have stayed at NYNY numerous times...have had rooms from Madison Ave all way up to Penthouse...never had a problem with any of the rooms.

stayed in a Park Ave last year for a few hours on a MyVegas comp.
we were taking a red-eye home and I had points and time to kill so we used it as a base for a few hours.
the room was kind of small, but they made good use of the space, and the bed was quite comfortable.

not sure if I'd stay there again though. There is just something about the casino that I just don't like for whatever reason.

NYNY is my favorite place to stay. I love the atmosphere and the layout. The rooms were just fine. My last stay was September of 2015 and we stayed at NYNY. The time before was at Bellagio, so the glamour of Bellagio was definitely higher, but I don't put too much stock into how rich the rooms make me feel.

I've stayed at 5 different places and NYNY is the only place that I've repeated a stay at. I would do it again, and likely will be the place I stay at next, depending on the circumstances of the trip. Once I had a room at the very end of the hallway. I loved it. It was like an adventure to get to the room. We aren't talking about a straight hallway, it is several twists and turns as you may surmise by looking at the shape of the building. The last time we were somewhat close to the elevators, and we didn't even notice any noise from people passing by. The noise from the roller coaster wasn't bad at all. It would only bother your sleep if you stay out until breakfast and then go to bed, and you'd probably be too tired for the coaster to wake you anyway, at least I would be. I was able to take an afternoon nap without being awoken by the roller coaster, so unless you're a ridiculously light sleeper, it shouldn't bother you.

The last time I was in the Park Ave. room. I can't remember if the first trip was Madison or Park Ave. Can't complain about either room. I nearly upgraded to Spa Suite for the last couple nights of my stay but it was just easier to keep the same room. Next time though!

 

Stayed in a Park Ave room in August 2015 and a Madison Ave room this past March. Both rooms were nice with the Madison being larger. The Madison room also had a little brighter decor than the Park Ave room. As others have mentioned, never had an issue with hallway noise at any time of the day. Very easy to block out what little noise comes from the roller coaster. I stay at NYNY a couple of times each year and have never had a bad stay.

 

i check into nyny next wednesday night late (10pm) and will be staying through the weekend. One of their marketing hosts (Dean Garrett) set it up for me on a comp. I need a room with 2 beds, should I try a 20 trick? what room would you guys suggest? we will be there maybe 20 waking minutes a day, perhaps I would benefit more from investing in a small gift for Dean. Thoughts?

 

If you want two beds, just ask Dean for one. He's a really nice guy and it's all the same to them. If you got him a gift, I'm sure he would appreciate it, but you do not need to do it, and you do not need to pay for the two beds.

 

I should have been more specific. My bad. I already have a room with two beds confirmed through Dean. I meant more of what tower should I ask for if one at all for view, bigger room, etc... My biggest wishes are perhaps having some room charges removed at checkout and resort fees. Thats were my "gift" thought came from. He has been great to work with and I have never had a number I could just pick up and call before like this. I kind of like it, I want to keep it
