If you do play and get a players card, make sure to check by the kiosk before going to eat, as it will have vouchers for deals on food (the steak special at minimum, but I believe there are others too).

Sometimes the cafe can have a 30 min plus wait. There is plenty to do to pass the time.
BBQ wait used to be very long when you ate in the brewery but now that they have their own restaurant. ... wait times have lessened

If you haven't been to EI in a while you will be impressed with the remodeling.

So is the correct order of action if going with a small group (4 people) to have each person sign up for a players card and play 10 dollars coin in through a slot (5 for the steak special, and 5 for a chance to win at least 5 in the drawing). Then go back to players club kiosk and get coupons for the steak special and the drawing, then order food?

My recollection from January was something like sign up, play your $5, go to kiosk to activate free play, play your free play, go to kiosk to get 1 voucher for 9.99 steak special, and one voucher for $2 off the steak special.

I don't recall 100% if you had to play a separate $5 for the $2 off. I think I did and my friend did not and we both got it. Worst case, you go back and play the other $5. Ours was more complicated too as we also had an ACG free play coupon to earn.

Took me about 45 minutes around dinner time on a Saturday once, but they call out numbers over loudspeaker, so I could conveniently lose $40 at Quick Quads while waiting. :evillaugh

They will take your name give you a buzzer. I've waited mins some days and 30 mins some days. Either way it's still one of the best deals in Vegas. Food, drinks and gaming are all reasonable. Not for the stuffy or " I only play at Bellagio" types. One of my first stops tomorrow after I check in at the Linq. I love their full pay quick quads..nickels, dimes and quarters!

I went this past weekend and it was just like you guys described.

Our wait was about 15 minutes so I played the wheel of fortune to the left and made $60 in 5 minutes so that paid for lunch.

We usually visit every time we're in Vegas. Cheap, brewed on-site beer, good VP paytables and the "Steak Special". You now need to play a bit and get a coupon from the kiosk. Basically soup or salad (good), steak (very good) and sides (take or leave). For far less than $10, a great deal.

They just added a Sling Shot amusement park ride so maybe that makes them special.

Ellis Island for a LIMITED TIME will be hosting Las Vegas’s only “Slingshot” ride. The ride will be located just one block from the Las Vegas Strip, with a superb view of the skyline. This high-speed thrill ride will propel riders over 200 feet into the air for the best view of the Las Vegas strip at over 100 mph.

The Slingshot will be available daily from 10am to 11pm from April 20th to May 19th. Tickets are available now online at www.ellisislandcasino.com, or at the door. Tickets are only $30, or (even better) two for $55.

Oh gosh lol after reading many posts I'm not sure hahaha. Maybe I'll go there during the day. Mid afternoon. And maybe stick around for a bite to eat. I've done and seen most of Vegas over the years. Ellis I have not.

Thanks for the interesting posts and feedback.

Love the post " I've never seen so many people get thrown out" lol

I like The Stage Door Lounge. Ellis Island is luxurious in comparison.

The Egg Nog available around Christmas is truly special. I like their Hefe Weiss beer the best among their offerings.Their IPA is decent. I don't drink a lot of pop, but I do like root beer and they have very good root beer.

The food is decent diner food, steak dinner is typically good. Their soups are OK. I think their BBQ is just OK, but I am the anomaly in our group who really loves it and they typically go once a month from Summerlin.

They get a great turnout for Karaoke, if that's your sort of thing.

I would suggest you don't go if you don't like dives, and also if you do not like smoke as beyond the dining area it can get very smoky.

What is the slot selection like? I'm thinking of checking EI out in a couple of days.

They still had it in April. We didn't have it however, we went to BBQ that night. I believe someone said that it doesn't include the beer as in the past so not a good a deal.
